We have a special notice for a short break to Viareggio. Unfortunately we had only a room with a view of the courtyard or partial ocean view of the sea receive. The staff in the hotel is competent and ready to help, but especially at reception a bit aloof and arrogant. This is one at reception good German and English. A nice hotel the but is not worth the price. The beach is very built up, and it is not allowed with the towel you the right on the beach,. So are the two beach chairs with umbrella for 24 euro per day almost duty and must be added to the daily cost. A third pool chair cost again nine euros per day. - What the hotel offersThe PALACE HOTEL is located in the middle of the promenade facing the sea. The 73 rooms are furnished with original Sixties and Art Nouveau furniture, they are equipped with all modern comforts to make your stay nice and relaxing: minibar, sat tv, direct dial telephone, courtesy line, hairdryer, heating, air conditioning, wi-fi internet connection. Junior Suites ans Suites have bathrobes and slippers. The rooms are located over three floors and can have a front or side view of the sea or a view on the inner courtyard. Balconies. Our fourth-floor rooms stand out for their elegance and functionality. As well as the usual comforts, they also have a beautiful, wide terrace or balcony with a scenic view. - LocationVersilia is famous for its beaches which stretch north from the famous resort of Viareggio. In summer the cost is crowded with holiday-makers. It first became fashionable in the early 19C and it retains an old fashioned air with an esplanade planted with palm trees. Art Nouveau houses and huge old grand hotels and cafés. The town retains its regular plants from the early 19th Century when it was laid by Lorenzo Nottolini on a chessboard pattern with long avenues parallel to the seafront and numerous parks. After Paolina Bonaparte built her Villa on the edge of the sea in 1820 it became one of the first seaside resorts in Europe. Numerous decorative building survive from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods, many with frescoes and graffiti as well as external ceramic decoration.Among the architects who worked here were Alfredo Belluomini who has planned the building of Hotel Mediterranée in 1919, Hotel Palace from 1960.
