Although the hotel is situated in the centre of town, peace and quiet are guaranteed since the rooms are on a little peninsular where all the guests can hear are the gentle sounds of the River Aare.   Right in the centre of things - the Freienhof, the island hotel. Not only is Thun the gateway to the Bernese Oberland, it is also very easy to reach by public transport. There are rail connections from all over Switzerland and the Hotel Freienhof is only 5-10 minutes on foot from the railway station. By car, Thun is only 20 minutes from Berne and the guests can leave their car in the underground car park.

  This city hotel is ideal for business travellers and holidaymakers alike and comprises a total of 68 hotel rooms with a total of 100 beds.
