  This opulent luxury hotel is centrally located in Madrid's exquisite historical centre. It is just a short walk to the Teatro de la Opera, the Palacio Real and the Gran Via with its copious shops and other attractions.   The building was constructed in 1850 and completely renovated in 1990. Formerly a city palace, the basic structure and noble classical style of the building have been completely preserved. Spread over 6 floors, the hotel has a total of 182 rooms, of which 159 are doubles and 23 are suites. There is a considerably large lobby with lifts, a charming glass roofed patio, hotel safes, a currency exchange desk, a cloakroom and a 24-hour reception. In addition the hotel has a café, a homely bar, a pub and an air-conditioned a la carte restaurant with a separate non-smoking area. There are conference rooms and Internet connection for those travelling on business. Room and laundry services are also available. In addition the hotel has a car park which is available against an additional fee.
