Was in August business in Lugano and I was this hotel booked. Have as nights of horror experienced. Very noisy because of the Funicolari and elevator in the hotel. Air conditioning was available but their noise level also intolerable. Bathroom was reasonably clean. On the terry towels one has however still found hair... Lake Lugano is expensive and this hotel offers a relatively affordable accommodation in the city center. To keep in mind is, the cable car, the train station the lake drives, in building quasi integrated is, the noise level is accordingly. The hotel itself is good: clean rooms, good food. It was wonderful to be in this hotel, after a disaterous trip in Rome. Proof that Italien-Swiss know what they're doing wrt hospitality, and that Italien-Romans simply do NOT. Coming to Lugano was a breath of fresh air. We felt comfortable, welcome, and giddy with happiness just being there. And it started with the warm welcome at this hotel, the quaintness of the rooms, the decidedly Swiss atmosphere of the Hotel, and the quirky, but nice, location of the room (right off the "Funiculare".
