Hotel Whitcomb was formerly Ramada Plaza, and while it is directly at the Market Street convenient, it is however not really central. Nearby there are just some restaurants and shops, but until the Powell Street there are several blocks. The rooms can the impressive lobby not match, but are OK. The hotel was decent, if you don't want to stay there for a long time. A maximum of three nights I recommend. That, I believe, but 99% of this suspect district of San Francisco. Market street, 9th street level sixth (Whitford blackcomb is eighth, St) is an area with many homeless people. This area of Market street smells of urine and marijuana and the obvious!     Good erreichbarekeit from the airport (bart metro station right in front of the hotel) To fisherman's wharf or Union Square a tram drove, also stops right in front of the hotel. Starbucks in the house. Environment frightens but from, many homeless with the corresponding side effects, after sun down ewats unpleasant.

Unfortunately the hotel is already a bit older. The 4 elevators are constantly overcrowded. Luckily we were only in 2. floor and the stairs. The breakfast is a two class breakfast. There are different colored coupons. The better breakfast you can even get a bad scrambled eggs instead of a hard boiled egg. at the toaster eternal queues. The noise level in this area is gigantic. The rooms are ok but musty. The bathrooms are tiny. The toilet is half under the sink mounted. But we know that the rooms are very different. Others in the hotel had reported, that ... you in the bathroom dancing may. On the ground floor there is a Starbucks café. The Market Street is populated by the homeless. The 1st and the 15 in the month to get their money and then to crowds in the city. The fast food restaurants across the street from the hotel are very good. Here one makes better a large clear. There are definitely worse places in sfo, but also much better with better hotels! read hotel review

The atmosphere and the furnishings was, therefore only shorthand - an outdated hotel, the age and the urgent renovierungsbedürftigkeit clearly side. Also the area is not ideal, many homeless and during our business visit someone only 2 blocks away was shot (on friday, the 12,07). Clearly disturbing but the very unprofessional acting staff-due to an it failure worked the transaction system not. We had a 3. night and on our question, us the manager of the hotel, that an extension was possible-the price but clearly higher would. He was due to the it loss but not say, the price ... we paid, that means he wanted and simply being ripped off. Our tip-just around the corner is a Holiday Inn - there is around the same price much more! read hotel review

The hotel looks on the first glance very Nobel (lobby and servant), but the rooms are worn, partially sees that everything is shabby. The cleanliness of the carpets is not so great. In the hotel area are very many homeless on. The affronting us not, but a pleasant feeling we had not. Out of the tram, the right on the hotel stops and fast into the hotel. Very good transport links to the airport (bart). With tram f directly to the pier 39. bus and u-bahn directly in front of the hotel.
