I have some expected, after i prior to here the reviews have. I had however lucky, a room in the neighboring building to get, so the side street back, and i believe, also the tone for this good review there is. In comparison to inhabitants, the front to S-Bahn your rooms had (and accordingly much noise), was my room ideally located and i could sleep well. I even had a small balcony. I am many a time in Mannheim and live then in the hotel basler hof. The hotel is good civic and hospitable to evaluate. The central location to the train station, S-Bahn, pedestrian zone etc. Is the best. Price/performance ratio is fully acceptable. If you expect luxury in one of the large chains again.
