The hotel is on the whole super. Very centrally located and right on the water. A bus stop in front of the door, so you get everywhere super fast. Various restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity. Room a bit small, but in Venice you use every meter you can get :) Trip was great and the hotel is one of the best! read hotel review

It’s the location that counts!

The hotel spans several of the old buildings and is therefore fairly encapsulated. The elevator only goes to the first floor; after that, you have to use the stairs. Condition and cleanliness were okay everywhere. The guests were of all nationalities and age groups. read hotel review

The hotel is right next to the Rialto Brdige, which is simply great. When the weather is good, as it was for us, you can breakfast outdoors and enjoy the view of the bridge. But even from the front breakfast room, there is a view of the Canal Grande and the bridge. Bars, restaurants, and shopping facilities can be found in the immediate vicinity of the hotel – a bit more expensive than the ones farther away, of course. The ‘Rialto’ station on the Vaporetto line is only few meters away. Thus it has both a good approach from the airport and good access for exploring Venice. From the early morning until late in the evening there is a lot going on around the Rialto Bridge – and thus around the hotel. Therefore it is particularly suitable for guests who like it a bit quieter. Still, we enjoyed our stay there very much.

The staff at reception and the front desk were very friendly. Room cleaning was good. We had no complaints, so we cannot evaluate this matter.

We got a very reasonable offer on a booking site. So we could not expect to get the best of rooms. Consequently, we were accommodated on the highest floor. The windows hardly opened due to scaffolding on the front side of the building. Therefore, we were a bit disappointed at first. But a glance into the bathroom reconciled us. It was not very large, but sufficient and – most importantly – newly renovated. At least that is how it looked. It was bright, inviting, and very clean. The fixtures were especially shiny and without any lime deposits. The room itself was well furnished and had sufficient storage space. Since we did not plan on spending too much time in the room anyway, the lack of a view did not really bother us. Those who who have higher standards, however, should be sure to book a room facing the Canal Grande.

Two (identical) breakfast buffets were set up. One was located in the rear of the breakfast room and one in the front area including the terrace. This allowed the guests to spread out, and there was no pushing and shoving. The buffet in the front area (in the direction of the Canal Grande) was not very large, but sufficient. By Italian standards, the selection was also good. It was, however, repeated every day. But it is okay for a couple of days.

For us a romantic dream hotel

We visited the hotel in January 2014. Since the booking was made through a booking engine, we were not quite sure what room would be ready for us. We were more than pleasantly surprised. Large, antique and with views of the Rialto Bridge and the Canale Grande. The breakfast was excellent, but the selection was modest, according to Italian standards. We would like to come back. read hotel review
