Very nice and rather centrally located hotel, from the highway easy to find, but with a rather fast full garage. Fortunately, there are in the immediate area (around 5 minutes away on foot) a public, around the hour open parking garage, which wasn't so expensive, so that you don't far away parking must. The hotel is located directly to a tram stop, is however also only 5 minutes from the bus or train station at the place de cornavin away, so you are comfortable with public transportation on city tour go can. The hotel is conveniently located close to the train station and right on the tram station pier (# 13 & 15). Room to the front are the traffic noise from the trams and cars and rooms on the back you will hear the trains, although room on the lower floors well shielded by another building and the trains that hardly disturbing also with the window open! However, you can hear noise from other rooms. Overall is the hotel and in need of modernization. It is the Royal to a phantasieloses , badly managed hotel. The simple check-in at the reception a takes ages, the staff seemed disoriented and helpless. The room was large, but the air was musty and stale despite current ventilation. Bulky furniture and it has to deal, in the more than benefit it anything away that. The food in the restaurant was, they were unimaginative and poorly cooked. The morning buffet was also poor. Very competent and correct, but a bit sterile. Some strange adherence to procedure: checking the minibar in the morning despite “no disturb” sign on door. Room on the third floor opens towards a inner court yard roof, which would allow somebody to get into the room through window. Air conditioning in the room means, one has not to open the window.
