A nightmare of the holiday. One had to beg for the drinks, that come something to hand. In spite of many notifications the bed sheets were not changed. After the information to the travel agency the bed sheets were reversed (the dirty parts inside). This hotel+management is horror. One is served as there is no need for anyone to work there and one is absolutely not desired as a guest. Also by the way the meals were so bad, that many people were sick all day long. The service was OK. The waiters and the bar-tender were actually very friendly and hard-working. They didn't really speak English or German but it was possible to make yourself understood. The room-cleaning was OK (tip!) Except for the hand-towel service- collected in the morning and returned in the afternoon. Check-In and Check-Out were quick and problem-free. There was a medical centre opposite in a side-street. The doctor could speak good English and a little German.There were enough bars and restaurants. Location
This charming hotel is situated directly beside the palm-lined, fine sand beach of Villa del Mar. This hotel is situated in the tourist area of Juan Dolio, just a few minutes from the town centre. From here, guest will find a selection of shopping and entertainment venues. Santo Domingo is around a 45-minute drive away and the airport is 20 minutes away.
Facilities
The attractive hotel includes 5 buildings each with 3 floors and a total of 391 rooms. The hotel offers guests various facilities including a foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, a hairdresser and a lift. In addition, there is a small supermarket, a nightclub, a cosy bar and a buffet restaurant, 3 à la carte restaurant's (Italian, Mexican and a grill restaurant) as well as a pizzeria/snack bar on offer Room and laundry services are further facilities that can be taken advantage of and a playground as well as car parking facilities are located outside the hotel.
Rooms
Spacious and tastefully decorated, the rooms come with their own bathrooms. Furthermore, a direct dial telephone, a minibar/ fridge, air conditioning, a hire safe as well as a balcony or terrace are also included in the rooms furnishings.
Sports/Entertainment
In the palm garden, guests will find 2 swimming pools with integrated children's pools. Sun loungers and parasols by the pool and on the beach are included in the price. Guests may like to play tennis, billiards or table tennis as well as train in the fitness-studio or aerobics classes. On the beach, there are various types of water sports offered from various providers, including banana boating, canoeing, angling or horse riding.
