Tradionsreiches hotel(1890) is beautifully located on a hill with a great view during the day and at night over Madurai with its impressive temples.
The beautiful dining room served a dreamlike terrace with lawn. Beautiful lounge furniture offer possibility to sit directly through of the city.
Front desk is in the old part the English colonial-style. Took some getting used to, you have to constantly steps and stairs-nothing for lazy.
The town has a, for India unique pedestrian precinct, the berühmste temple of the Neuhinduistischen time of southern is. 4 Gopurams ( Eingangstürme ) are over and covered with colorful Plaster Figures. … read more

The gateway hotel is located on a hill with a view to Madurai.
unfortunately the journey takes in the city ~,20 minutes and you can therefore not just what go shopping.
the bungalows are spread far and different from the main building away. Many rooms have a beautiful view of the city. The rooms are huge (double room) and wonderfully furnished. TV, Safety deposit box, air conditioning and telephone are available, the bathroom is clean and big. (DW-TV is!)
the staff are very friendly and helpful, their English but not always the best.
Internet access is available, costs however a bit. Free Snoker -table … read more

wonderful hotel in the colonial style on a hill overlooking the city, secluded and so quiet. To get into town, you need a taxi or small train.
the rooms are in the main building or in different bungallows and therefore different in size, location, view and decor. ( we had a small bungalow with living room.) the park is very nice, relieved to restaurants and bars are steep and may be relatively far. (not accessible for disabled people)
the pool is relatively small and not very nice.
the food was very good, varied offer, the drinks in the bar I didn't like them.
