The island is a dream. The hotel leaves in some areas very to desire. The room, in other words the cleanliness, have bothered me the most. Because of the shower in the bed -one had black Feet! In the shower and on the toilet we found considerable Leftovers from our previous. The food in the restaurant is super, also the wine list. The a beer is expensive, you know in Australia. The service at the hotel is absolutely in good order. Valuables can be left at the reception, because the doors in the resort that wouldn't be secured. your bags are brought to our room and checked in directly from the ferry is already on land, before the ferry. We stayed during our Australia-trips two nights on Heron Island and absolutely loved it. Pure nature! The birds and their noise did us in our reef unit didn't really bother. Snorkeling directly from the beach, Eyeball to Eyeball with small sharks. The only thing we had to complain about, would be the day a snack to buy them anywhere. You have to cover so from breakfast to dinner, there is one egg for breakfast in the morning, a picnic snack. So spontaneously in the afternoon food, is not. Important note introdution: Heron Island is as the name suggests (heron island) a birdisland. Here again thousands of sea birds. If you with Vogellärm (even at night) and the smell of bird droppings products so strong that one almost felt sick had a problem, was wrong here! If the but that didn't bother us, the expected a wonderful, small paradise island with Gramvousa bay and turquoise water to the horizon. Small reef sharks, rays swimming directly on the beach.
