    Variety and quality was outstanding.

  • Service
    6.0

We cannot speak highly enough of the level of service in all areas including housekeeping, butler service, bar and restaurants. One feature was the the butlers actually walked the whole area of the resort enquiring with guests whether everything was ok and could they do anything for each guest!

  • Room

Very roomy and had all the services and quality bedding.

  • Location

Perfect location away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to experience the local culture with a short cab ride.

  • Sport & Leisure
    6.0

Availability of sport equipment was made very easy and the pools were outstanding, very clean and well maintained. May I suggest that the pools somehow should be a little cooler!

The staff were very good! They all took the time to ensure that you were well taken care of. Alberto in the main dining room really went out of his way to look after us! I would look for his section! Thank you for our experience. read hotel review

This resort is a little far from other resorts but a cab ride or bus will get you where you need to go. It was great for us because we enjoyed being away from the crowds. I would not consider it a place for young individuals to go to party but for others it is an excellent location. I would go again. The beach was beautiful, the pool which i didn't spend much time was clean yet small. The staff was very friendly and the evening music and shows were great. read hotel review

Amazing trip! We lived like princesses for ten days in August! Huge rooms, friendly staff, super helpful and accommodating. Our room (for no additional cost) was overlooking the ocean. It was just my best friend and I traveling together, and the room would have easily fit four people. As two 18 year old females traveling alone, I felt completely safe and comfortable at the resort. All of the workers were super friendly and went out of their way to help you. Weather: August is rainy season in Puerto Vallarta. It would be sunny and cloud-free all day then around 4pm ... or 5pm it would rain nightly. Around 8 pm (when you are indoors eating supper anyways) the sky would dump buckets and buckets of water. We were unaffected by the rain, and it did not prevent us from doing anything. The weather during the day was amazing! I am still shocked that the resort could deal with all the water. (You might want to bring evening shoes that can get wet, no matter what resort you go to in Mexico during rainy season). The resort was amazing, the people were so friendly (even in the town) and the trip was a perfect getaway from reality. I would recommend it to anyone, from honeymooners to families, there is something for everyone. read hotel review

Food: Great! Ten days and still loving the food! There is a buffet, 5 a la carte restaurants, a snack bar, and an all night fast food restaurant. The a la carte’s would have two open per night, so you plan what nights to eat where. Long pants for men, no bathing suits etc as dress code but overall guests were not very fancy in attire, but we felt comfortable on the nights when we dressed up. One night there was even a sunset bbq on the beach - so romantic (too bad I was with my best friend not my boyfriend).

Beach: The beach is nice but not wow. Sections are rocky, but there are designated areas where it is smooth and the rocks and coral are cleaned daily. There is an awesome shallow pool in the ocean- a must see!!! As tide drops, the pool is useable, and in high tide, you would never know a pool was hiding there. Smooth sand, nice and shallow for children (and super warm from the sun since it is so shallow). We went in stormy season so the waves were more rough some days, but still easily swimmable (maybe not for really small children on the rough days though). There are three tiers of beach for those who want to play in the sand but not go in the water, GREAT for children!!! If an area says NOT TO GO THERE because of rocks or whatnot, listen to it (my friend stepped on a sea urchin, completely her fault). There was plenty of rock-free, beautiful sandy beach. Location: I would have preferred if it was a bit closer to town. The drive to the town is anywhere from 25 minutes to 50 (just under 40 on average) depending on your cab. Money: Pesos are preferred and some places will not take US cash/credit. Canadian cash is useless so make sure to exchange your cash. US coins are also useless so bring bills not coins if planning to pay in US. Buses: Great bus system, felt totally safe, even as two teenage girls. I would feel fine taking a family on the buses. The local people are extremely friendly.

Rooms: Huge. Great view. Bug Free. Well Maintained. Mini fridge in room. Flatscreen Tv, Free wireless in room (a giant storm took it out for most of our trip though), Ipod dock, and more. The walls were quite soundproof - I never heard any of our neighbours. We blasted our music and went into the hall to check the volume and couldn’t hear it at all. We were in the cheapest bracket of room and it was amazing! They are all angled so you get a balcony overlooking the ocean, even if you are a few layers back.

Check in and out: super fast and easy. Room Cleaning: AMAZING!!! Our maid managed to turn what looked like a bomb went off (we are two 18 year old girls remember) into a clean, pristine room that my mother would have felt comfortable hosting guests in. Throughout the day when we would come back to get things, she would always work around us and get our room done somehow. All of the other maids we dealt with were super great too! We even were let into our room multiple times when keys were locked inside.

  • Sport & Leisure

Activities: TONS! Great family resort! A children’s club and a teen club and generic activities for anyone. There was even free archery and catarmaranning and surfing lessons. Yes free! Dance lessons, pool games, bingo, an air conditioned gym...the list goes on! The activities were great! I would have loved if they were a bit more spaced out (some occurred at the same time every day so then you had to choose between them). The spa even has a private pool (with two WATERFALLS) that you can book to rent out FOR FREE! So relaxing, what a perfect way to relax after activities. Spa: Free pool with waterfalls, steam room, sauna, gym and more, plus the usual spa things such as massages on the beach. Hammocks and sun beds (and obviously lawn chairs) are everywhere for relaxing as well. Shows: Different show each night, fun and entertaining, nice for after dinner. Start at 9:45 most nights (early enough that children can still come - (lots of places shows start at 11)) Pools: There is a main pool (divided into two with a sitting area in between, open until 8 pm) and an adults only pool (though the age limits were questionable, lots of children were in there and were allowed as long as they didn’t rough house). The adult pool is open until midnight and looks upon the ocean. There is also a pool in “The Royal Suites”, an area that is upcharged. We never went in, but their two pools (also attached) seemed very nice. With the other pools being so great there was no need for us to use it. There is also a small fenced in kids pool designed for super small kids, about ankle deep (or less). There is also the spa pool (I included it because it is not advertised at all at the resort. We didn’t even find out about it until two days before we were leaving). And the ocean pool described above. Lots of bars beside the pools, but no actual swim-up-bar. Excursions in Puerto Vallarta: AMAZING! There is an Adventure Center in Nuevo Vallarta (right beside Puerto Vallarta) that runs a lot of different excursions. We went SCUBA Diving, Swimming with Dolphins (and a sea lion), and zip lining (included repelling down a waterfall!). Amazing excursions! Opportunities of a lifetime. They provided transport for two of them even with a bus picking us up right at the resort. No bus = don’t worry, taxis are easy to get. The resort even has permanent taxis that will take you off the resort, wait for you all day (for no additional cost) and bring you back.
