I stayed with my girlfriend from 14-12-12 until 16 december actually a stay at the a+o hotel beside munich central station booked. When we arrived there we were told, that it was overbooked and we to the hotel at the hackerbrücke to be transferred and our double room were. When we got there we got the information, that the hotel no double room free and we could have been a & bedroom as a single room handed. The staff were very friendly and always helpful, even if sometimes busier was. If other guests complained they were helped immediately, whether german or english. The rooms were cleaned daily.In the basement the breakfast room is, and the offer is quite big, no reason to complain and there is something for everyone there.Our room was a 6-bett room and also not too big, but we were also only for sleeping in the hostel. Friendly reception staff. Bad room cleaning, especially in the bathing area. Bad cleaned floor. A plus, there is a laundry room.Small bistro/bar area in the lobby. Beer and snacks to rip-off price. Little privacy in the bistro/bar area, all seating very open.Double room: Very sparse and simply. Floor had at check in already dirt on. In the bathroom there was still hair from the previous guests. Very loud hotel, the visible worn is. The beds were not made upon arrival, the rooms shone no friendliness from, any Wandhalterungen will already half from the wall against. They also after a complaint no toilet paper after, the towels on the floor there were and the trash not collected. All we had to ourselves from the reception get. The statement the ladies at the reception after our complaint was :... But we can already imagine... Clear statement, that it is normal, you could neither service yet cleanliness expect.     This centrally located hostel is only 1 stop on the urban train (S-Bahn) network from the central station and some 10 minutes from the Theresienwiese, where the annual Oktoberfest takes place. Bus and S-Bahn stations are some 100 m away. Guests will find typical, traditional restaurants, pubs and beer gardens in the vicinity. It is only some 25 km to Munich Airport.
  • Facilities
    This hostel was opened in 2005 and comprises 1 main building and 2 annexes with 5 floors each and a total of 212 rooms. Single, twin and shared rooms are on offer. With over 80 beds in shared rooms and 50 in twin rooms, the hostel provides outstanding accommodation for both families and large groups. The welcoming receptions offers guests a lobby area with a 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a cloakroom and lifts. Further facilities include a cafe, a newspaper stand and a bar. Meeting room with the appropriate technical equipment may be made available on request. WLAN/Internet access and bicycle hire complete the range of services on offer. Cars may be parked in the garage.

    Each room comes with an en suite bathroom with shower or bathtub, a WC and a hairdryer. Further facilities available in the rooms include satellite/ cable TV, central heating and a balcony.

    Guests may select their breakfast from a buffet. This establishment offers half-board or full-board stays.

  • How to get there
    By plane: take the urban train service (S-Bahn) line S1 or S8 and get off at the Hackerbrücke stop. From here, go right into Grasserstrasse and, at the first junction, go left into Arnulfstrasse. By car: guests coming from the A8 to Augsburg, take the exit for München-Obermenzing and turn right into Verdistrasse (which turns into Amalienbergstrasse, Menzingstrasse, Notburgastrasse and, finally, Arnulfstrasse). Guests coming from Berlin, Leipzig, Nuremburg, Regensburg, Landshut/Munich Airport (A9/A92): leave the A9 at junction 76 signposted München-Schwabing at the Neufahrn interchange. Follow the B2r. Turn right into Schenkendorfstrasse and follow the Petueltunnel/Petuelring (which turns into Georg-Brauchle-Ring). From there, turn left into Landshuter Allee, then right over Donnersberger Bridge and finally right into Arnulfstrasse. Guests coming from Salzburg, Austria: leave the A8 at the München-Süd interchange and take the A995. Turn off the A995 towards the Tegernsee road. Go straight on, onto Martin Luther Strasse, Giesinger Berg, Humboldtstrasse, Wittelsbacherbrücke, Baldeplatz, Kapuzinerstrasse, Lindwurmstrasse, Herzog Heinrich Strasse and Paul Heyse Strasse to the Paul Heyse underpass. The next bend is then Arnulfstrasse. Guests coming from Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Starnberg: follow the A95 to the end and turn left into Luise Kiesselbach Platz. Go straight on into Garmischer Strasse, Trappentreustraße, Donnersberger Bridge, and then turn left into Arnulfstrasse. By train: take the urban rail service (S-Bahn) one stop from Munich Central Station, using either the lines S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S7 or S27 and get out at the stop Hackerbrücke. From there turn right into Grasserstrasse and left at the first crossroads into Arnulfstrasse.
