We were disappointed at the entrance of this hotel which was appeared to be at the back of the hotel not facing the beach. The reception area on entry however, was pleasantly surprising with appropriate lighting, well maintained and clean. The receptionist was welcoming and efficient. Our room on the 2nd floor was directly opposite the stairs and we were worried that we would be disturbed by other guests as this hotel does not have a lift. We were never disturbed, the rooms were soundproof, clean and met all our requirements. We found the openness of the bathroom shower and ... toilet an interesting concept but feel it works well as we had the choice of either a bath or shower. The bed was a double and we had asked for twin room as I was travelling with my sister, however the comfort and size of the bed allowed both of us to sleep well. The balcony with chairs and small table is quaint and fabulous at night to listen to the sea lapping onto the shore. Wonderful room for us Thank you read hotel review

The location of the hotel was ideal for us as it was on the perimeter of the city yet had bus and "train" facilities to get into town. We ventured into Zadar on Friday and enjoyed the feel of the old city, the sea organ was amazing. Whilst ambling down the narrow streets towards the many churches we felt very safe and agreed that the local people were helpful and friendly. We arranged trips to NP Plitvice and Krka through using public transport buses which was very reasonable in price and very comfortable buses.

The staff in the hotel are amazing. Professional courteous and extremely helpful. I have travelled to four out of the five continents and the Adriana staff surpass all - from the receptionists, housekeeping and bar tender. Falkensteiner management should be made aware of their competent staff.

  • Sport & Leisure
    4.0

We would have preferred an indoor pool at the Adriana rather than having to go to the nearby falkensteiner hotel but overall this met our needs adequately.

  • Gastronomy
    5.0

We had a half board reservation which was very effective. Breakfast facilities and choices were very good for four star, the times 7-11 was great if we wanted to swim , have a treatment or "stay in bed watching Tv" !! Evening meal was also good, however I would have liked to view the starters and main course so possibly a buffet/ carvery style arrangement would had improved the gastronomy experience for me.

The hotel and location were excellent. However having booked half board we were pleasantly surprised at the high standard of the food served for our evening meals. The breakfasts were good but totally surpassed by the excellence of the evening meals. If you do choose this hotel, half board is a must read hotel review

First time in Croatia we can't wait to go again, about 5km from Zadar, hotel situated virtually on beach and what a place 4 stars does not justify the quality of service, staff so friendly and nothing is to much trouble. We stayed half board the breakfast is superb, but evening meal of five courses well it's another level, fine dining at its very best. rooms smart and very comfortable, Felix head barman, marina head waitress and Alan on reception people doing a job they love and it shows. see you in May!!also left my phone at airport in Zadar ...,got in touch with reception via email and they sent a member of staff to pick up the phone and have sent it to me in England recorded delivery, outstanding !!!!! read hotel review

Myself and my boyfriend, both in our 20s stayed half board at this hotel. We picked Zadar & this hotel as we wanted a holiday that was mixed with relaxation and culture, and this was set to be the perfect base for us as it was in travelling distance to Plitvice Lakes & Krka, both of which we were dying to see. We also wanted to be on the coast as we are big fans of seafood- turns out the food was so amazing at the hotel that we ate in most nights. Whilst on a large complex, our hotel ... seemed to be relatively small with a limited number of rooms. There is no lift, but the staff are more than happy to help you with your luggage should you need it. There are only two small flights of stairs so we did not find this to be a problem. There were a varied range of guests in this hotel, ranging from their 20's up until their 70's, all very pleasant and friendly. WiFi reception was also great throughout the hotel. read hotel review

To say this is the best hotel that we have ever stayed at is an understatement. I don’t even know where to start with writing this review, every service they provided was 10 out of 10 and nothing was too much for any member of staff. Nothing was too much for any of the members of staff and they went above and beyond with everything. Every time we dealt with a member of staff, we spent the next five minutes gushing over how helpful, cheerful and amazing they were.

  • Location

The location of the hotel was perfect. Whilst it was a little out of Zadar centre- walking there along the sea was lovely (and definitely worth doing once) but it was quite a distance. A taxi to the centre is only 30 kuna approx. £3 so we tended to go in that way. There was also a bar about 2 minutes away from the hotel that we loved, it was called The Famous. The cocktails were great and reasonably priced, the atmosphere was great there as well. Whilst at the hotel we arranged visits to Plitvice (via Bora Tours), Krka on the local bus, Nin and the island of Preko. We loved Krka and even though it was quite cold, we couldn't resist the opportunity to take a dip in the waterfall. When planning our trips Allen was more than helpful, providing maps and spending time explaining where the best places to go were, what to miss and what to see. His enthusiasm was so refreshing and everything he recommended was spot on.

  • Sport & Leisure

There is lots of stuff going on on this complex. The pool are beautiful and well maintained, very clean with enough sun loungers around the pool for everyone. We loved that whilst we were sunbathing we were offered complimentary bottles of water whilst we sat out. The hotel is directly next to a small beach, there is a stone-beach through the gate and a sandy beach a little around the corner. Here you had the opportunity to sunbathe and swim in the sea. There was also an area where you rent a water ski. We were also able to use the facilities of the sister hotel, which included a spa, a slide in the pool and a indoor and outdoor pool.

  • Gastronomy
    6.0

We arrived late to the hotel and they promptly checked us in. Given that we had missed dinner they had prepared a platter for our room of cheeses, prosciutto, bread and fruit. After a full day of travelling, we were very grateful for this and thought it was an amazing welcome. The breakfast was an amazing buffet of all sorts of different continental and English choices, including eggs prepared to order and a freshly squeezed orange juice. There was also the option to have a glass of sparkling wine. The breakfast could not be faulted and served with a smile every morning without fail. Even though we were half board, we were really looking forward to trying the seafood in Zadar Old Town but we barely ate out due to the standard of food that we were served in the evening. The food at Hotel Adrianna must be the best food in Zadar, three courses of absolute heaven fit for St Donat himself. There were two options for your starter, three for your main and one for dessert. Each as nice as the next. Our waitress Marina was so helpful, friendly and a delight to be served by, her cheerfulness in the morning and in the evening was was something to aspire to.

We LOVED our room. The bed was nice and big and exceptionally comfortable. The hotel also provided a 'pillow menu' from which you could pick a recommended pillow for extra relaxation or to help with an ailment. We were provided with an abundance of towels and toiletries- the soap is absolutely brilliant, we loved it. There was a glass window that separated the bedroom from the bathroom, which was really nice. There was also a living area with a nice big settee and a television with access to different channels in a multitude of languages- we never struggled finding anything to watch. We also had a nice big balcony with tables and chairs so we could sit outside in the evening and look at the gorgeous gardens below. The minibar in the room was very well stocked and the first 3 items are free. I would recommend taking some tea bags with you, as there is only coffee provided in the room. Our room was always spotless when we returned to it. They went above and beyond to make it look like we had just arrived every day.

We made a reservation based on photos, desciption and infomation. Then we had our expectations of the level on service and facilyties. And that level was pretty high. Our expectations were more than fullfilled, we think this is the best Hotel we ever has stayed on. No less than that. Already from the first person we meet in the reception to the servants on dinner or breakfast we felt vert good taken care of. The slogan Welcome Home is vert suitable, for thats what we felt all the time?Tthis was our first trip to Croatia, and will surely not be ... the last one. read hotel review

I went to Zadar and chose to stay at Falkensteiner Hotel Adriana. I wanted a relaxing week at a great hotel near the sea. I was not disappointed. The staff at Hotel Adriana was polite, helpful and easy to talk to. The service, the food and the hotelroom was amazing. The location for the hotel was also perfect. Close to the sea, shoppingcenters and the Old Town. I would, without doubt, recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to travel to Zadar. If you have children, you should probably rather stay at Falkensteiner Hotel Funimation which lies next to hotel ... Adriana. read hotel review

The service in this hotel was excellent. Beds and breakfast were heavenly. This hotel stands out by the little extra's like a free sorbet at the pool or a nice quote on the bed every day and a goodbye present. It is perfect for a romantic and relaxing stay. A few small minus points: our room was a bit unpractical as there was no mirror right in front of the washbasin (it was at the side) and there could have been more lights. read hotel review
