We had an exceptionally friendly and competent front desk. The room a suite with a balcony was very tastefully decorated. We had booked a junior suite with a balcony, we have a double upgrade without afterwards asked to have. Seventh floor with a balcony and view over the roofs of Wien. The staff were always, from the concierge to the bell boys, extremely friendly, but never fake. The location is perfect for all the sights nearby, for shopping, for theater, opera, musical and many very good restaurants in walking distance. I want to go back... Everything you in Wien want to see and must is nearby, you can reach everything on foot or quickly mit'm taxi drive! I am just straight to the point and what I do not like. If you like my friends twice a year for three weeks in lives and the Sacher for years, you should expect when we arrived a bit more than the obligatory map of the hotel manager. No bottle of wine, no champagne a few tepid petit fours. Also over the Christmas holidays and Christmas Eve as well as new year's Eve... Nothing! Location
This world-famous luxury hotel is situated in a privileged location opposite the State Opera and the Kärntner Street and is about two minutes on foot from underground station Karlsplatz. The Hofburg imperial apartments, the Spanish Riding School and the famous Ringstrasse are all also within easy walking distance. The hotel is a favourite meeting point for Viennese high society, artists and politicians.
Facilities
The hotel was established in 1876 and has a total of 118 rooms spread over 4 floors. Facilities on offer include the traditional Café Sacher, a restaurant and a bar. There are lifts to guests' rooms.
Rooms
All of the rooms display a harmonic unity of tradition and contemporary comfort and feature an en suite bathroom with hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers. Further facilities include a direct dial telephone, an Internet connection, satellite/ cable TV and DVD player. All rooms have a minibar and a hire safe in addition to adjustable air conditioning.
