Here our absolute recommendation. Had luckily only booked with breakfast included, as we wanted to no buffet, but restaurants in Funchal visit for a bit more regional cuisine to get. 9 days = 9 restaurants and the right starting at the hotel! Here is my recommendation-no matter where they go i was 9 times not disappointed and my wife had 9 sometimes different and always very good ☺ value food/wine/water top. In the hotel thursday evening is recommendable the 5 course dinner and the wine (8,50 Euro) begleitent in addition! Until 2014, there is on the promenade the construction site. … read more

We were the last time in Porto Mare and now have completely aware to this hotel changed, since here no children authorised the guests not included in the bathrobe by the hotel hiking!
Our room requirement (2 room nearby together) was perfectly met.
At the front desk there was a really friendly until ' let in peace', but 98% of the staff is very helpful.
The current restorations on the beach promenade should not hold a booking, because the hotel everything is in order to compensate for this situation.

The Porto Santa Maria is a very comfortable hotel in the best location: right next to the sea with a view of the cruise ships, directly on the interesting old town and nevertheless peaceful, nearby the cable car station and the bus station for excursions/hikes. Again and again impressed with the great location this hotel. You are immediately in the town with its many shopping and entertainment venues, Funchal is christmas time simply a nice city with friendly people and a wonderful climate. You just feel great there with a sea view, the always flourishing nature and incoming cruise ships.
