If you like history and its atmosphere (the hotel is an ex convent), then this hotel is for you, too. Authentic paintings and furniture, very clean and, above all, the friendliest staff I've met recently. Since I am on a special diet, they've made me my fruit breakfast, although it wasn't on the menu. And the location is fantastic - we didn't need a car/bus to see Florence. Our host was Rolando took really great care of us - he even solved the problem we've caused (booked for another day) by giving us 3 rooms instead of one with 4 ... beds. read hotel review

Location - great. We didn't need our car at all. The surroundings aren't so pretty.

The rooms (we had 3) were so beautiful and completely different from each other. The building is very old and well preserved. The rooms are a little bit small, but it gives the whole atmosphere the final touch.

A bit difficult to locate, narrow street but generally peaceful and close to Duomo Center. No elevator but was not a problem since the receptionist on duty (Cristiano) was so helpful to carry our luggages upstairs. It is worth staying again and recommend to others. It was clean and all the staff, Cristiano, Rolando and Mauriccio were all very helpful and very kind. They are assets to the hotel, so with the restaurant staff. read hotel review

The Morandi is a quiet and charming small hotel in Florence. It is well located near the Accademia and San Marco. We had a beautiful room with a private patio where we had breakfast. Very importantly for Florence the hotel is on a small street that has no traffic noise. The air conditioning is splendid too. Everyone was wonderfully helpful and we would definitely stay at the Morandi again. read hotel review

Highly recommended! As mentioned, a throwback in the best sense - beautiful service, elegant surroundings without being posh. Really great and friendly and informed service. Only negatives: 1) no elevator so stairs required - but I think there are 2 rooms on the street level available, 2) the street entry stair is grim and carpet worn and dirty; this is off-putting but a false impression. We used the secondary staircase - much cleaner. Also 3) the very narrow and long street/ alley you are located on is ugly with graffiti and torn posters, and street is dirty. Sadly this is ... the state of all of Florence and much of Italy now-( Overall a great hotel, out of the madness yet close enough to walk to the Centro. NOTE: we are over 70 years old. read hotel review

I was very much pleased to find all the hotel personnel extremely friendly, informative and willing to provide all the necessary help. The room was clean, cosy and comfortable. The hotel location is very convenient (e.g. within 5-7 minutes walk of Duomo and about 3-4 minutes walk of the Academia Gallery). After a week stay in Morandi I can say that it was an excellent choice. read hotel review

My husband and I found this lovely B&B in a Rick Steve's book and couldn't have been happier with our stay. The staff was very friendly and inviting - helped us with dinner reservations, directions, taxis, etc. The room was wonderfully spacious and clean. The food at breakfast was fresh and plentiful. We willdefinitely recommend this hotel to friends and family. read hotel review

Although not in the "heart" of the city, it is conveniently located to many attractions. We walked everywhere from here (other than the train station with luggage).

We were very pleased with the room and quite surprised at the size of it. We were lucky to have a small patio off our room as well which we used. The downstairs has a large open space as well for relaxing and catching up on emails, etc. Quite impressed.

The hotel was recommended by friends and we were not disappointed. In fact it is very hard to explain the peacefulness of the facility. The hotel was small, but roomy. The room was clean, very tidy and quiet. We also had a small terrace that was secluded and inviting. I really can't say enough about the staff, how friendly and nice. Very accommodating with any request We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Florence. read hotel review

We (four) stayed at Hotel Morandi for two weeks. It was an ideal choice. Although not exactly in the historical center, it is very near the Accademia (David) and San Marco (Fra Angelico). It is no more than a ten minute stroll to the Duomo and an easy to walk to all the main sites in Florence. The location on a quiet street guaranteed that traffic noise would not disturb our sleep. The accommodations were very comfortable, with two large parlors at the disposal of guests. We gathered in one almost every evening for our light supper of wine, cheese ..., and prosciutto after having had our main meal in the afternoon. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, and fully fluent in English. They are always ready to meet guests’ needs. And they gave us some great tips on restaurants. If we return to Florence this is where we will stay. read hotel review
