Ich habe das Hotel beruflich im Rahmen einer Tagung besucht. Der Empfang an der Rezeption war, wie in USA üblich, mehr als zuvorkommend, ja für deutsche Verhältnisse schon fast übertrieben zuvorkommend (ich fühlte mich schon "overprotected"). Als ich Vielfliegermeilen auf meine AirFrance Meilensammelkarte gutschreiben lassen wollte bot man mir gleich die (Kundenbindungs-)Mitgliedschaft als "Omni Select Gast" an. Nachteil: Man gibt seine Adress/Kontaktdaten preis und erhält entsprechende Angebote/Newsletter des Hotels und ggfs. auch weitere (was man aber kündigen kann). Das Hotel liegt leider etwas weit weg vom Zentrum (ca 10km) und verfügt über keinen shuttle service. Der zweite unerfreuliche Punkt ist der kostenpflichtige Internetzugang. Das ist in US, besonders für ein Hotel dieser Kategorie, eher unüblich. Sonst gibt es wenig zu beanstanden. Die Mannschaft an der Reception ist freundlich und kompetent, allerdings darf man keine Fremdsprachenkenntnisse (Ausnahme: Spanisch) erwarten. Die Lobby kann man fast prunkvoll nennen, daher wird das Hotel offenbar auch gern für Familienfeste gebucht. Das stört die Hotelgäste aber in keiner Weise. This luxurious hotel is situated in the popular gallery district approximately 2 km from Houston Gallery.
Facilities
The luxury hotel has a total of 378 rooms spread over 11 floors. Guests are offered a lobby with lift, a safe, a cloakroom, currency exchange counter and a reception, which is open 24-hours. Furthermore, the air-conditioned city hotel includes an excellent selection of bars and restaurants as well as a conference room. A laundry service (for an additional fee), 1-hour pressing, 24-hour full menu room service, and twice-daily maid service with turndown are also available as well as a car park (fees apply). The hotel offers a complimentary town car or limousine service with scheduled route to the Galleria Mall as well as within a 5 km radius of the hotel, based upon availability.
Rooms
The hotel features attractive over-sized guest rooms with hairdryer, lit make-up mirror, plush terry bathrobe, coffee machine, a minibar, ironing equipment, a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV with remote control, radio/CD/MP3 player, high-speed Internet access, carpeting as well as a double or king-size bed. Individually regulated air conditioning also features as standard.
Sports/Entertainment
The hotel grounds feature two swimming pools (one is heated). The hotel provides a gym for those wanting to exercise and a sauna and a health club for relaxation. Tennis facilities are additionally available.

American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard and VISA are all accepted in the hotel.
Misc.
Famly plan: 2 adults and 2 children (up to the age of 16) are able to share the available beds in the double rooms. A free-of-charge shuttle bus service runs guests from Houston Gallery and a complimentary limousine service travels the route to the Gallery shopping hall. The person whose name is on the reservation must be at least 21 years of age to check into the hotel.
