  InterContinental Mauritius Resort Balaclava Fort is located on one of the most stunning parts of this island – a pristine stretch of beach looking out over the Bay of Balaclava, just north of the capital, Port Louis. It’s 15 minutes’ drive from the main tourist region of Grand Baie, and 50 minutes’ drive From Plaisance International Airport.
• Accommodation
  The hotel has 140 Deluxe rooms, 20 of which have Jacuzzi’s and private roof terraces, tastefully laid out for our guests’ greatest comfort. To compliment this the hotel also features 40 Family Rooms and 10 Duplex Ocean Suites complete with their own private hot tubs, terraces and balconies, all beautifully designed for guests to relax and make the most of the stunning views of the Indian Ocean. All rooms are equipped with Internet access, 42-inch LCD televisions, air conditioning and have 24-hour room service. Every bathroom features a stone bath, walk-in shower, double basin, 17-inch LCD television and a unique bamboo garden feature.

  There are a wonderful variety of restaurants and bars dotted about the resort, suitable for everything from casual afternoon drinks to romantic fine dining in the evening. The restaurants have distinct environments and specialize in different cuisines, but all use the freshest local ingredients to make dishes that reflect the multitude of cultural influences that reside in Mauritius. The finest tastes and textures, colours and flavours from Africa, India, Western Europe and the Far East are found in the sumptuous cuisine on offer. With multiple bars on the resort and a full bar service available on the beach, guests are never far from a chilled cocktail or a cold beer. There are bars to suit all tastes and moods, from an intimate location to gently sip away the evening to a dynamic nightspot with live entertainment.

  The club resort is located on a pristine stretch of beach looking out over the Bay of Balaclava, just north of the capital, Port Louis. It is 15 minutes' drive from the main tourist region of Grand Bay, and 50 minutes' drive (approximately 52 km) from Plaisance International Airport.
• Facilities
  Newly built in 2009, this club resort offers fabulous views of the ocean and 210 elegant, functional, well-furnished and spacious rooms. Guests are welcomed in a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services. Facilities include a hotel safe, currency exchange and a cloakroom. There is also a newspaper stand, hairdressing salon and a games room. For the younger guests, there is a children's playground and a kids' club. Furthermore, restaurants, bars, sports facilities as well as business services including conference facilities can be found at this property. Guests can also take advantage of the WLAN Internet access and the room and laundry services on offer and those guests who are arriving by car may park their vehicle in the hotel's car park. Cars, scooters and bicycles are all available to rent (hire fees apply) and the hotel's concierge is on hand to assist with any request.

• Sports/Entertainment
  The hotel facilities include a fully equipped and supervised gym, two-tier heated outdoor infinity swimming pools and a tennis court. There is also a children's swimming area. Refreshments are available from the poolside snack bar (fees apply). Guests can also keep fit with aerobics and aqua fit sessions. There is a sauna and steam room for added relaxation and guests can pamper themselves with a massage or spa treatment (fees apply to both). A range of water sports are on offer on the sandy beach. These include waterskiing, windsurfing, motor boating, banana boating, sailing, canoeing and pedal boating. For an additional fee guests can also go catamaran boating. Other recreational pursuits on offer include badminton, paddle tennis, table tennis, pool/snooker, darts, volleyball, beach volleyball and bocce. Biking is also an option (hire fees apply). Golf can be arranged at any of the nearby courses and the hotel organises entertainment programmes for adults and children.
• Meals
  The restaurants have distinct environments and specialise in different cuisines. Guest can start their day properly by having a nice continental breakfast buffet which is nicely displayed in the main restaurant. Lunch and dinner may be chosen from the buffet or selected from the à la carte menu. Moreover, there is a set menu on offer at dinner.
