Great hotel, but only partly suitable for families

The Hotel Royal Radisson (formerly hotel ukrainia ) is located in a historic building, which even when attraction can be described. The hotel is directly on the river mockba, across from the white house and near the station or metro kievskaya. Therefore, you can get from there all objects of interest the city reach. The rooms of the hotel are clean. Breakfast is unique, very diverse and hardly more to beat. Somewhat irritating the many, rather unfriendly tranquil security at the entrance. A polite doorman, as in other 5 star hotels is common, would be a nicer front desk. From ... the Mercedes bar you could enjoy a fantastic view of Moskau. The hotel also features boats, with which you on the river a drive and is very recommendable. Families should bear in mind, that it is not a family hotel. For example, children under 15 years, the spa and the pool did not use and also not, if the parents supervision. Overall, families in another hotel surely better waived. read hotel review

This hotel has it all. If you want to buy a Rolls Royce while staying there, they even have a dealership on site. We were upgraded to a lovely suite and the rooms were fantastic. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have ever seen and we have been to many. While the location is not the most central, transportation is no problem and the atmosphere and service can't be beat. read hotel review

The building is of course impressive and was one of the hauptgruende for our visit. Cleanliness and condition in our opinion spotless. Our room on the 5. floor had view to the street. It is worthwhile probably, to availability on the side of the river to questions, then is the prospect exciting. Wifi is for check in guests free of charge. Unfortunately does not exist really spaces, where you from the higher floors just the views can. This is then directly with a restaurant or bar visit connected. read hotel review

The service was good, had for us but not a 5-star level. Warmest welcome we felt at the front desk not. No demand for our prior, no note on breakfast times, etc. Departure no demand, as we pleased. The ordered sparkling wine with strawberries, the according to the reception in 5 minutes as should be, came only after an hour and repeated demand.

In the restaurant farsi (3. floor, iranian cuisine) we ate very well, found the prices for the claim of the dishes but nevertheless too high. The Mercedes-bar (31. floor) has a brilliant atmosphere and a great view from high up. The beverage prices are high but still acceptable. The restaurant buono (29. floor) also offers a great view and a very comfortable atmosphere. The other restaurants and bars we didn't try. The breakfast was good, however not outstanding. The indoor restaurant on the 2. floor is not too exciting.

We got an upgrade and therefore a much larger room. The windows leave unfortunately not open, one is for some fresh air the air conditioning rely on. As soon as you from the sensor the minibar is, it is allegedly directly the room calculation will be charged. Caution so. The cleanliness was spotless.

The kiev train station and the metro stations are 10 minutes away on foot. The nearest airport is vnukovo. To city center and arbat with numerous restaurants and shopping possibilities are depending on destination 1-3 metro stations. Directly at the in front of the hotel you can take Radisson cruises on river walk. Very recommendable.

A really impressive contruction and fantastic renovated, the service quality and the value for money fit in no way for a star hotel. We never really felt welcome. The only thing which the ladies at the reception interested in was, whether the credit a sufficient limit narrative. No smiles, no question, whether we have a good journey or for the return trip, wether all to our tastes was. When we at the front desk a table in the italian restaurant reserve wanted, told us the receptionist a short telefonversuch with, that the line is busy and we ourselves to the ... 29. floor for a resrvation request should go. The go for a 5 star hotel simply not and is also in no way my ideas and requirements, particularly the rates be higher. In the lobby we had to wait for the waitress to pay our coffee waiting, these chatting with the bartender. The hotel staff is clearly not clear, that staff are and the guest in the center of the attention is. And not at all my expectations the appearance of the ladies in the 'royal wellness club'. Also here there was no greeting, no smile, only the stroppy announcement on the first day, my son and i were too late would come, since the club was until 24:00 o'clock open, a inlet after 23:00 o'clock but no more into question is (we simply wanted to swim a few laps). On the next day then (we arrived now rather) the unfriendly message, that children under 14 years not permitted are (we had the hotel especially because of of the pool for my son and it was when booking not told, nor on the first evening to). On 3. evening then the clear message, that i have to hurry would, as you to 23,30 already closing would. Somehow we felt always than requestor and took the behavior of the coworkers very arrogant true. I am very much in top hotels on the way, but this hotel we can't recommend. There is in Moskau quite better alternatives. Only positive exception management and the quality of the Mercedes bar, very friendly, efficient and pleasant. The rooms are generously and elegant furnished, disadvantage here, the windows do not open and you are constantly on the air conditioning rely on. Breakfast buffet was rather average, not on 5 star level. read hotel review

Because we a room with connecting door, we wanted to also that the door between the rooms was opened, these was however not the case. First opened the door and it turned out, the door lock was broken, no response from the staff. We went 3 further mallorca to the front desk down, so they opened the door, they said it someone comes immediately, happened is however nothing. The last time we were around half two (morning!) On the next day the door was repaired.
