Very pleasant hotel facility, but not "luxury". Located in the historic old town about 100 meters from the central market place (Grote Markt). Most (perhaps all) rooms are located in a building set back from the street. Excellent hotel staff (friendly, helpful, attentive). Room was very pleasant, but not luxury. It had all customary amenities and the bathroom was roomy. My room had a wide view the town (roof tops and three church towers in the distance). Charming hotel in the middle of Bruges

Beautiful, charming hotel in the middle of town. Our room (number 250) was wonderful, windows on 3 sides, a large bathroom with a bath, hair-dryer and plenty of counter space in the sink. Tv, safe, and two very comfortable armchair. In bed there were related bedding and not only sheets with blankets. The staff were very helpful, spoke german, english, french, dutch. Breakfast more than enough (only the filter coffee was not very tasty). Finnish sauna in the basement, to that a pool in the vaulted cellar. For a short break to Bruges recommendable. Since it concerns a older building with some additions, was the few confusions while looking quite difficult, particularly since still different elevator-spaces came in. There could be an better signs would be helpful. … read more

the hotel lies almost ideal, only about three minutes' walk from the historic market square. Rooms are a bit small, but the bathroom therefor adequate. Decor of the rooms is okay (new plasma tv, kitchenette, mini bar). Bad the beds (by location, plush-top mattress, no proper blanket, so that s the unpopular and unhygienic blankets out of the closet use). Windows can only be slightly tilt. This elegant 17th-century listed mansion enjoys a prime location in the heart of the historical city centre of Bruges, only 100 m away from the main square (with its famous Belfry Tower), all major attractions and shopping streets.
Facilities
This is a charming, family-run hotel which has recently been completely renovated with great flair and attention to detail. The use of wireless Internet access is free of charge. Guests are welcome to relax in the jazz bar The Duke or in the peaceful garden. A private car park is exclusively at the disposal of guests. The hotel is renowned for its warm and friendly atmosphere.

All rooms are spotlessly clean and are equipped with all modern conveniences: bathroom with shower, bath, WC and hairdryer, flat-screen TV, free wireless Internet access, 2 direct dial telephones, a minibar, a trouser press, tea and coffee making facilities, air conditioning and a safe.

How to get there
On the motorway E40 to Bruges, take exit number 8. Join the N31 around Bruges. Take exit R30 (Direction Brugge AZ St-Jan) and turn left at the second traffic lights (direction Knokke). Then take the third street on the right, the Ezelstraat. Drive up to the very end of that street to find the St.-Jakobsstraat. The hotel is on the right-hand side, next to the Sint-Jakobskerk.
