As the Olive Tree was overbooked, as a guide 1 night I had to stay at the Leonardo. Comparing both hotels, I would rate the Leonardo surely as equal to the Olive Tree. THe room was ground floor and maintained much better than the Olive Tree, breakfast was equal, however the set up of the restaurant is not that nice than the Olive Tree, but there is much more space between the tables. Bottom Line: Olive Tree has more charme, but Leonardo has better staff and better maintenance. read hotel review

Because of the positive reviews and the buchungslage other hotels, we had us for our 5-day Jerusalem-stay Leonardo Hotel booked. The location this is especially for visitors of the center jerusalem interesting, why every day new groups arrived or left. Accordingly looked also the rooms from: worn, small, dirty and not at all comfortable. Also the hotel services left nothing to the imagination: once our room not made, so we 22:30 (!) The housekeeping request had, do so. Cleanliness was in the Leonardo also not important, but this in Jerusalem often is. For breakfast we made a waiter discreetly ... on a with syrup beschmierten chair attentive, and this simply again under a free table. Next guests thus directly in the dirt. Only the diversity and quality of the breakfast is commendable. Ultimately it is the Leonardo Hotel for a 2-night stay and only for people, the jerusalem old city want, suitable. Also these because of the bad price-performance ratio only limited. Who rather for the modern Jerusalem (holocaust memorial yad-vashem) or excursions in the area (dead sea, eilat, etc.) Interested, is a hotel near the bus station recommended. These are definitely not new, but cheaper. Our tip: in israel the atlas group book! We had a great experience with the hotel center chic in Tel Aviv. Of the hotel-offshoot this group is in Jerusalem harmony hotel (book early!). read hotel review

The hotel has 182 room and was during our stay in great condition. All spaces, both the spacious lobby, as well as the rooms were very tidy and clean. The hotel can only with breakfast book. We had during our stay booked half board. Jerusalem guests of from all over the world visited, accordingly we met on guests from the USA, Spain, Russia and many other countries. We were there during yom kippur guests in this hotel, and since every year a famous rabbi guest is, were very many guests from israel hotel guests. This is however an exceptional case ... to yom kippur. The hotel generally seems holidays more busy than during the other 'working days'. The sabbath, so the jewish ' weekend, took the number of the guests back drastically, also from israel itself. read hotel review

There was a main restaurant. In the untergeschossen there are other halls, where buffets prepared. To yom kippur was the main restaurant for a large group of traveller from israel actually reservíert, at least in the evening, so that we the dinner in a restaurant umfunktionierten hall revenue. The quality of the dishes suffered not. The breakfast was plentiful and extensive as everywhere in israel. There was everything from meat and meat. The quality of the offered food was good. The dinner was also good. There were next to salads, cold and warm starters several main dishes. The variation of the main courses was in comparison to other hotels in israel was rather unimaginative. There was mostly poultry and beef. Other chefs in israel were creative. Nevertheless the quality of the food good overall. We could also in the rooms, in which we the meals have, no pollution to say. If this was to see, then resulted it, that some guests with really unreasonable table manners presented. The waiters were always make an effort, these impurities easy to eliminate. Alone costs such up a lot of time.

The hotel lies directly at a busy dual carriageway main street. In the middle is the tram. In fact the hotel lies exactly between east and west jerusalem, about in breach of mandelbaumtores, which until 1967 the only border crossing between east and west jerusalem was. Of which is however nothing more to see. The hotel is new built, its actual age is inestimable, but the appearance is modern and clean. The historic part from Jerusalem you can within ten minutes on foot reach. The hotel is conveniently located. A taxi rank is right in front of the hotel. Furthermore is a bus stop nearby, and the new tram is also at the hotel over. Next to this hotel are more hotels. If you in the direction east jerusalem, the arab part, moves, are also restaurants and shops. In the direction west jerusalem is first mea shearim, the residential area of the orthodox jews. The hotel itself has also a restaurant. To the bus station, in west jerusalem is, you have to at the best with the tram go. This runs to the herzl-mountain, where the memorial yad vashem is. Given the fairly central location is this hotel as a starting point for exploring in Jerusalem very suitable.

  • Room
    5.0

We had a room on the 8. floor facing the west, so in the direction main street. The traffic is on public holidays, and we had with yom kippur and the consequences of sabbath two holidays in our period of stay, small. Otherwise is of course a lot going on. The room had a bathroom, a separate toilet, naturally closets and beds, tv, fridge, air conditioning and safe. The room was in a very good condition. On the 8. floor have the rooms also a balcony, from which you have a view of Jerusalem can throw. The size the hotel is approximately 20 meters² has been given. For two people during a city break is this size absolutely sufficient.

We arrived on the eve of yom kippur in, and on this day is the hotel by guests from israel almost flooded. Although the bar was going on, we are at the front desk very friendly served. English as a foreign language is generally of all employees spoken. In comparison to partially said services in other hotels in israel were the staff here with your performance absolutely on international standard. We were always very good, friendly and competent service, and this applies not only for the front desk. The waiters are mostly arabs. You have for the guests regularly very intensive and with large friendliness taken care of. When we arrived, there was in front of the hotel almost no parking. A hotelbediensteter, the for the transport of the suit-cases into the rooms was responsible, for us, and therefore we could our rental car still in the garage house, the really was. That even a car fit in has, is a miracle, but it has helped us. The cleaning of the rooms was done well. The hotel room, which we stayed in, was always clean and tidy. We had a broken in the room, and despite yom kippur was still in the evening a member of staff and this broken repaired.

  • Sport & Leisure

There is a swimming pool on the ground floor. There is also a fitness room, which we didn't visited. Maybe the swimming pool once for relaxation use of, however we were Jerusalem so fasiziniert, that we were on such a programme did without. The swimming pool was at least at the time of our visit in immaculate condition, but in fact nobody of the guests used.

The 2., bad review from 2007 is not correct at all, they need to be deleted. Breakfast 7:00 until 10:00 o'clock ( eggs -, salad- and Waffelkoch ) and dinner more than enough as-kosher - buffet (27,00 Euro, from Germany book with 20,00 Euro cheaper ), large room, separate toilet, balcony ( only 8th floor ), red wine to the greetings. Large lobby, very friendly staff, We have felt really good, the hotel is better than many other, which we in Jerusalem met. The well kept pool is unfortunately only from 10:00 until 18:00 ... o'clock open, as is the tourist in the Suks of Jerusalem on the way, would be improved. The very hidden kids club -stand is only allowed in sportswear and only with ärztlichem certificate be entered, is however irrelevant. read hotel review
