Also this year we were back in the Hotel Alpina, also this year it was again great. I know no hotel with such a family friendliness and all are always up for a joke ready. The location right next to the spoiler lip of the plateaus is breathtaking-with a direct view of the eiger, mönch and jungfrau mountains. As described in other reviews, Roger was the friendliest manager in any place I have stayed in Switzerland. This was my third trip to Switzerland for extended hiking and the Hotel Alpina was overall the best place I have stayed. The view was magnificent from my room, but most importantly the family that runs the hotel was always friendly and helpful, which means a lot to me. The valley side rooms at Hotel Alpina have an unbelievable view of the mountains and the valley. From your balcony, cars look like ants crawling along in the valley below. The rooms are rather small, but clean and cozy and warm. The view is the main reason to choose Hotel Alpina so make sure and get a valley side room!!
