Location
The location probably couldn’t be more idyllic, it is a white sandy island covered in palm trees and swimming pools and surrounded by turquoise water in the Maldives. The island is called Fonimagoodhoo Island and is located north-east of Baa Atoll. The island is a 35 minute seaplane flight from Male.
What the hotel offers
This island resort is committed to being sustainable and eco-friendly. 15% of the clientele are divers as the island offers great diving opportunities. The resort includes a Diving School, Spa, Water Sports Center, Sports Center, Boutiques and Excursions. The Resort also includes 5 restaurants and 5 bars.
Accommodation
The villas are set among tropical foliage and each villa includes; air-conditioning, a ceiling fan, telephone, mini-bar, safe, satellite TV, hairdryer, hot and cold water, one king size (2m x 2m) or twin beds. All rooms also have private sun loungers (with mattress) located at the beach.
The Villas are split into 3 categories; Reethi Villa, Deluxe Villa and Water Villa. The Reethi Villas have direct Ocean views and have partially open-air bathrooms with shower. The Deluxe Villas are located on the sandy beach and include a rain shower an bath tub in their partially open air bathrooms. They also have a traditional Maldivian swing outside the room. The Water Villas, like the name suggests, are built over the water on stilts. This means when you sit on your balcony enjoying the sunset there is nothing obstructing your view and the waves lapping around the house lull you to sleep at night.
Food and Drink
The 5 restaurants include buffet, gourmet and specialty cuisine. Among the 5 bars there are three beach bars and a pool bar. You can enjoy meals amongst the lush vegetation in Saima Garden or eat above the waves at the Moodhu Bar & Restaurant. Private Dining is also available.
Leisure
Theirs is plenty to do on this small island be that in the water or on the island. For water fans there is the diving school and water sports center. For land lovers there is the Spa, Sports Center and Boutiques. Boat excursions to Baa Atoll are also available where you can learn about the culture and traditions of the local people.
