I was in November 2010 here and had a room with a pool view (cabana) booked. It was very quiet. The pool is a well-kept garden Sun loungers does not exist. The breakfast was rather moderate-the small selection. In the evening you can also food (the restaurant at the top of the road). The restaurant is quite clean but not. The plates were worn and spalled. A few meters to the right is a Tesco shopping center-here there was just everything-restaurants-boutiques-trivia-clothing-banks... The pool is very nice in the atrium with a lot of green around.
There is no Surat Thani stay worth it, except if you typical Thai city-mixed with backpack-tourist hotel flair.
To Donsak to Fähranlager after about 40 minutes Samui and phangan with your own car.
