The hotel in general
Our Azienda Agricola was founded in the middle of the 19th century. In 1904 we won our first Gold Medal for wine at the "Exposition International" in Paris. Since then work has continued with the same enthusiasm through 5 generations.
Rigone was a typically rural settlement consisting of the Casa Colonica (the farmhouse) , and its annexes Fienile (the barn) and the Tabaccaia (the tobacco drying building) .
In 1997 in response to the changes in rural economy the family decided to transform the old rural complex dating back to the 18th century fallen into disuse, into what is now Rigone, a small, well-kept structure able to satisfy even the most demanding guest.


Hotel location
Podere Rigone is in the Chianti Region, 1 km from the small Medieval Village of Montaione.in the province of Florence. It is in the centre of the virtual triangle that links Florence, Pisa and Siena, at about 40 km from each.

Service at the hotel
The Agriturismo consists in 3 original buildings, left intact in their external appearance , but adapted for their new functions. This farm, restored with care , was transformed in 9 completely independent flats, equipped with any comfort, where elegance and sobriety combine perfectly together.

Gastronomy in the hotel
We produce the excellent Chianti DOCG wine and a special extra virgin olive-oil, grappa and honey.

Sports, entertainment and pool in the hotel
The “infinity” swimming pool (8mx20m) with Jacuzzi is set amongst the olive trees and vineyards . There is also a swimming pool and a large play area for children.

Hotel room/Accommodation
Our apartments vary in size , but all of them have 2 double bedrooms with private bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and private external area for “al fresco” meals.
They are all terracotta tiled and have wood beams and brick vaults, furnished in typical Tuscan style with rustic wooden furniture and wrought iron beds.
Amost all our apartments have large fireplaces for romantic evenings by the fire.
