Dijon, the capital of Burgundy, is situated in the very heart of this region. It is surrounded by world-famous cultural monuments.
With its countless sights and its distinctive charm, the town is well worth a visit.

In Ruffey-les Echirey, which is only 4 km outside Dijon, we have renovated the family-owned 19th century manor house and
have furnished five ecological rooms in the former barns. This is more than a hotel: We would like to offer you a comfortable
temporary home near some of the most famous vineyards.

Want to get to know the country and its inhabitants? Want to experience the famous local gastronomy and wines?
Interested in culture and architecture? Or do you simply want to immerse into the special atmosphere of Burgundy,
the old part of Dijon, its market and the French “art de vivre”? Then this is the right place to be.

Staying at L’Ame de la Terre gives you a good base to explore the surroundings.
Visit for example the museum of fine arts in Dijon with its tombs of the Dukes of Burgundy,
Beaune, Flavigny, the Fontenay Abbey or the Citeaux Abbey.


Hotel location
Our guest house is situated in a quiet, typical, French village, only 4 kilometres outside Dijon. It is only 1.5 km away from the “Cap Nord” business centre, the “Zenith” music hall and the “Toison d’or” shopping centre. The motorway exit “Arc sur Tille” number 4, A31, is only 8 km away from Ruffey-les-Echirey, which makes it an ideal stopover on your way to southern France or the French Alps.

Gastronomy in the hotel
A “Table d’hôte” meal is an informal dinner which is taken at the large wooden table in our main hall. Share our love of gastronomy
on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Seasonal Burgundian dishes will be served. The ingredients are of high quality and mainly purchased
from local farmers and suppliers. The aperitif will be served at 8 pm. How about a glass of home-made "Kir", for example?

Taste local white and red wines from the near vineyards “Côte de Nuits” and Côte de Beaune” at table.
Or try a glass of Chablis or a little of the less known wines of the Maconnais wine region.

Price per person: € 28 including aperitif, starter, main course, cheese, dessert, wine, and coffee or tea.

"Table d’hôte" meals take place on special demand only.
Please book in advance if you intend to make use of this offer on the day of arrival.

Hotel room/Accommodation
The rooms are dominated by wood and glass. Each room has another colour. The ecological timber-frame construction
with its environmentally friendly spun-rayon insulation contributes to a constant room temperature, both in summer and winter.

All rooms are spacious and bright and have en-suite bathrooms. The wireless network, morning gowns and the rich breakfast
buffet are included. Extra beds are available on special demand.
