The hotel in general
The Apollonia Beach Resort & Spa was built in 1977 in the typical Cretan style. In 2007 it has been completely renovated and has found a pleasant combination between the classic local style with the modern. In the large hotel garden you can find your quietness for recreation and relax, whereas in the evening you enjoy one of the numerous cocktails at the bar or watch a show presented by our animation team.
Hotel location
The Hotel Apollonia Beach Resort & Spa is located on the north coast of Crete, about 8 km west of the airport and 6 km of the City of Iraklio, directly on the wide sandy/pebbled beach of Amoudara. It is recommended to bring shoes for the beach.
About 15 minutes walking to the centre of Amoudara with it’s shops, bars and discos. Right in front of the hotel you can find a bus station for the busses to Iraklio Centre.

There are 4 Restaurants: the main restaurant with Show cooking and theme buffets (special diet food possible), 3 specialty restaurants (with reservation): Asian, Italian, and Greek. Main bar with nice garden terrace. Poolbar with snacks and possibility for lunch, beach bar, amphitheatre with open-air-disco (weather depended).
Board: Bed and breakfast, half board or all inclusive.
All-inclusive: Full board (buffet), theme buffets, late breakfast 10-11 a.m. In the afternoon coffee break, ice cream for the children 10 a.m – 6 p.m. A variety of national and international alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., pool bar and beach bar 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Possibility of dinner in the specialty restaurants once per stay (choice between 2 menus).
A-la-carte possible, the half board-/All-Inclusive dinner price will be charged on the total of the bill. Asian Restaurant “Anjin San”: our Chinese chef will enchant you with the delightful meals of his home country. Italian restaurant “Al Capone”t: our cook Guiseppe presents you the specialties of Italy. Greek Tavern “Ambrosia”: try the variety of foods of your holiday destination country. 1x Cretan Evening (with charge)per week in the Greek Tavern on the beach with rich salad- and starters-buffet, BBQ with fish- and meat-specialties and a variety of local deserts, Greek and Cretan live music, folkloristic dance group and following international dance evening. In all restaurants appropriate clothing is required (gentlemen with long trousers).
Sports, entertainment and pool in the hotel
Sports and leisure: All-inclusive: 1 tennis court (balls and rackets), floodlight (with charge), aerobics, gymnastic, 5x5 soccer, mini golf, basketball, beach-volley- / waterbasketball, table tennis, darts, boccia, bicycle renting (1 hour per day), trial for surfing and scuba diving. Canoes and pedal boats available.
Offers of local services on the beach with charge: Surfboard rental (1 hour per day, licence required, weather depending), sailing, water ski, scuba diving-lessons and -excursions.
Spa and Wellness Centre with charge: fitness-room with the newest equipment of Nautilus, Powerplate, sauna, Hammam, Laconium, professional wellness area with different therapies with products of Elemis, e.g. body massage with chocolate or with oils of plants and spices.
Animation: daily animation program, different beach and pool games, guests shows, beach parties, evening shows in the amphitheatre or in the disco, creative studio.

The hotel consists of a 5-floored main building and 2-floored Bungalow-areas. In the main building you will find the Lobby with reception, TV-Room, lounge and card-playing-room. Internet-corner, Billiard and WiFi-Internet connection with charge. A souvenir shop with mini market is located in the large garden of the hotel.
The newly renovated rooms with bathtub/WC are modern equipped with LCD-flat screen (Satellite) and integrated radio, telephone, safe, individual air-condition, mini-fridge, ADSL-internet connection, balcony or terrace. You have the choice between standard double rooms (max 3 adults) with garden view or side sea view, or family-rooms with garden view, consisting of two separated bedrooms, Executive rooms with separate wardrobe and Jacuzzi, Suite with two separate bedrooms, living room with dining area, Jacuzzi and big balcony.

A quiet generous, well-kept and clean hotel with park and in a very quiet location. It has a main building with about 500 rooms, apartments and bungalow with about 200.

From the moment we arrived we felt comfortable and were accommodating. The hotel is located in a beautiful, park-like garden (here is once a week a leadership offered, which is a very interesting) has several pools and a nice beach (beach chairs and umbrellas were plentiful and free of charge, as well as beach towels, which were changed every two days may be).
