Only a pleasant boat trip away from Schwerin: The Best Western Seehotel Frankenhorst is a stylish, comfortable retreat with a “literary past”, as it owes its name to the author Hans Franck, who chose this wonderfully located property in the first third of the last century as his inspiring residence. And if some guests feel transported back to this time – why not? The charme of the country house from the twenties is combined today with first class comfort, the amenities of an excellent restaurant and versatile wellness treatments. In the cooler months of the year, the comforts of the open fire, the cosy Hans Franck Library or the charming sitting areas come into their own.
Gastronomy in the hotel
The elegant restaurant BOOTSHAUS with wintergarden, summer terrace and lobby bar with maritime ambiance offers a light, fresh cuisine with regional touch.
The Gotland sheep farming business on our land is certified organic. We are really proud of our certified organic lamb - however it obviously only features on our menu when it is available and in season.
Our cheese also comes from a genuine organic farm called the 7-Giebel-Hof. Our herb garden enriches every meal with the finest herbs, all freshly picked.
We prepare all of our dishes with special care just for you.
Sports, entertainment and pool in the hotel
The wellness and beauty area “Wellnarium” offers an extensive selection of treatments, e.g. Ayurveda, aromatherapy, hot stone treatments, Lomi Lomi Nui, Tuina and many more. All treatments are offered by trainers who have undergone their training at the Deutsche Wellness-Akademie (German Wellness Academy). We exclusively use products of the Thermen-Akademie.
The hotel has its own jetty, pedal and rowing boats as well as a small marina. A bathing jetty is available for keen bathers, watersports fans and anglers: from here you can sail, go on canoe trips and much more. You can also rent bikes, play volleyball, table tennis, darts, tabletop football, fulfilling all your desires. Or simply relax on the lawn by the lake.

Unfortunately, they forgot to tell us when booking, that we were in bungalows. In the summer definitely beautiful, but if one booked winter SpA rather inappropriate, since the building quite far apart beach chairs, minus 10 degrees if you in the snow shoes should... The bungalows are not really ready for winter. We had from the inside the Rauhreif windows.

We had a wonderful Double Room with a view of the Lake. the room was very tastefully furnished, absolutely to be comfortable.

If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place to stay. Great location, beautifully laid out property on the lake. For Wellness vacation is missing to an in any case indoor pool.
