We stayed for 1 night in a private room in the newly building of Backpackers Villa Sonnenhof. It has private bathroom. We have no complain on the room, the facilities, the service. They are all great. We skip breakfast since we have to leave early so cannot review on that, but they gave us some cookies to replace the breakfast. It was a kind thought. The new part (front desk, lounge, cafeteria) meets our taste. The staff was really very friendly, cheerful and helpful. The rooms in the old building (Kajütenbetter) hostels standard. We had finding a room for us (two adults and three children) with a balcony and view of the Jungfrau one-time! The breakfast was sufficient for us (bread, butter, jam, Nutella, yogurt, cereal) for the region, we would have liked but opened local cheese. We cooked in the kitchen stove. At the first time I was in the new building: great, everything you need, clean, modern, comfortable. At the second time in the old building: the contrast is large. Everything was available, but please renovation plan: bad insulated windows and sanitary: just building. But the most important thing: the bed was comfortable, good mattress. For a Hostel, it is far more better than expected. In my trip, I visited 10 hotels in three countries. This Hostel provide good service and good quality of room, even better than a hotel.
Price is attractive and there is bus (number 102) which connects to two main train stations.
Recommend: Hostel can provide TV at some rooms. So that customer can choose if they are willing to pay more. And Provide more choice in breakfast. Read more

I have stayed here for two night with fds ,the reason why I have chosen here is the self-eqipped kitchen since we need to save budget ,and the kitchen was pretty great ,big enough and the dinning room was great as well . - in October 10
We stayed in a double room with a shared bathroom, it was great as it had a balcony and also it's own toilet and sink in a separate room. It was great to get breakfast every morning and we ended up extending our stay from one night to 3, we even got the 3rd night half price as we had a swiss pass!

Friendly reception has all the information for local activities and restaurants, while being in central Interlaken makes it ideal for both east or west part of town (most journeys would start from Ost station for ferries/trains).
