23 March 2012 is Nyepi Day, The Balinese New Year ... according to the Balinese calendar, the day of complete silence in Bali. No lighting fires, no electric lights, no working, no entertainment, no pleasure, no traveling, and for some, no talking or eating at all. Ngurah Ray airport remains closed for the entire day. Although free to do as they wish inside their hotels, the tourists are not allowed onto the beaches or streets. It is a day of silence, fasting, and meditation.

The only thing what annoying was: a construction site in the middle in the hotel. Because a whole Bungalowblock restored. What we hadn't known and also none had said. Very nice complex, good food. Amazing service. Everything very friendly and accommodating. The Bali Mandira with clear conscience recommend. Please forget not enough excursions to make. Sea temple (please early in the morning, evenings it's like when the winter sale), rice plantations (with Affenkatzenkackekaffee ), monkeys forest are worth seeing. Also it was nice, just to sit at sunset with the Bali nese people and to drink a beer (everyone has somehow there own little business going on).
The hotel had two pools, one of them for adults only. Unfortunately there were 'people who reserve sun loungers'. Otherwise, there was always a free spot.
