The Bellevue Hotel is situated on the Mall, Darjeeling's prime area, and overlooks the Chowrasta, the main square with its magical mix of people from India, Nepal, Tibet, Sikkim and Bhutan. At the centre of Darjeelings pedestrian zone, their bright activities make up for banished exhaust emissions and engine noise.
The Hotel has panoramic views of the Himalayan Mountain Ranges stretching from Nepal, the entire Sikkim Himalaya, and, dominating all, Mount Kangchenjunga. Western Bhutan, and the Nathu La and Jelep La passes into Tibet and Bhutan are within the huge landscape surrounding the Bellevue Hotel.

... Bellevue Hotel is crowned by a striking Pagoda-roofed attic housing a small Lha-Khang (temple). The adjoining terrace is open for anyone and offers a breathtaking panorama including the Himalayan summits to the North. This is a spot that makes one feel in levitation. Just the Observatory Hill across Chowrasta with its Hindu and Buddhist temples on top extends still a bit higher. But, that's o.k. After all, this is the seat of the gods!
