Dar al yasmin is situated in the old city from damascus and so is the hotel recommendable. It is quiet( apart from the air conditioning, but therefor you can nothing). The only annoying is, that at the Pay cash (and not us dollars) will be passed. The trick is straightforward: a wrong exchange rate with the euro or to the syp being mentioned in the tourist tapped. Small simple but clean hotel in the old city, not very cheap but with great flair. Simple but good breakfast. Staff with very good English. Location is the city sightseeing tour ideal. Lots of good restaurant nearby (especially in the christl. Part, where alcohol served is). Room and bathroom are very small and basic, but rooms has air conditioning.
