We have been going for some years to hochgurgl. We appreciate the ski area, and snow skiing 'quieter' bit. We also enjoy this excellent Hotel. It is even the main reason, that we were faithful regular and still are. Special highlights are magnificent views of the mountains and glaciers gurgl, the nice, not overcrowded wellness area, the courteous service and the excellent food. I drive each year to end here.HCLFHLSince the place is a small ski resort, shopping opportunities were limited. The village of obergurgl is in a few minutes to reach by car. Sölden is also not far. Who wanted to party and 'apres ski extremely' searches is here wrong. Skiing and relax better is almost impossible.HCLFHLThe staff is always friendly and polite. All wishes were fulfilled somehow. This is a sensational great hotel in a super ski area, this is suitable due to the height (1,800 to 3,000 meters above) for a late ski vacation. The restaurant is excellent with diversified and very fine menu offer. The Spa area and a very large swimming pool, outdoor swimming pool, and a relaxation room with a view and what else to boot is also excellent. Pure luxury. We were very disappointed with the hotel, had booked a suite, however, we consider a suite two rooms, this suite consisted of a room about 30 sqm, in any other hotel this would be a very normal double room former. The device is already 20 years old Time 40 minutes 40 centimeter, as well as a DVD or CD Player available, for the price we could not imagine a, about 800 €per night/half-board, as you'd expect something different. The service staff was very helpful and the food was outstanding with a new chef. All dishes from fish to meat very good and a large selection. The breakfast buffet is great with chef for hot food.HCLFHLThe wine list is extensive and well stocked.HCLFHLThe almhütte is as evening right next to the hotel. The ALM is the only smoking area in the hotel.HCLFHLGreat start in the ski season at optimum slope conditions. Slopes are nearly empty which is typical but for former hochgurgl.
