The hotel in general
If you are looking for a reasonably priced accommodation in the center of Dresden, then this is your place. The hostel Lollis Homestay is characterized by its individuality and its passion for details in its personally designed rooms. It’s also known for its cozy common room, and thanks to the fully-equipped guest kitchen you can inexpensively prepare your own meals.
Hotel location
The hostel is located in the center of Dresden right in the “Neustadt”—the trendy district full of bars, clubs, and nightlife. If you like to go out in the evening, then you’re on the right side of the river. The historic downtown with the sights that make Dresden famous like the Zwinger, the Semper Opera or the Church of Our Lady is just a short tram ride away or a nice walk to the other side of the Elbe.
Service at the hotel
The hostel offers free WiFi throughout the building and if you prefer to travel without your own device, it has free laptops for you to use and stay connected. They serve a rich, 4 € breakfast buffet until 12 noon and offer free tea and coffee around the clock. Other special services include free bicycle rental, a gratis map of Dresden, and 24/7 reception manned by friendly staff who are happy to answer all of your questions.
Gastronomy in the hotel
The breakfast buffet is served daily from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and consists of unlimited tea and coffee, freshly baked rolls, bread and toast, a variety of jams, cheeses and sausages, as well as a glass of juice, yogurt, cereal, and fruit.
Sports, entertainment and pool in the hotel
All Lollis Homestay guests and visitors are most welcome (the more the merrier!) to our weekly events in the hostel:
Monday @ 7:30 pm: free dinner with our Czech cook Zeli
Tuesday @ 8:00 pm: barbecue
Wednesday @ 8:00 pm: Learn German in one hour with our American – free
Thursday @ 7:30 pm: free dinner with our Indian cook Pranav
Thursday @ 9:00 pm: The Dresden Neustadt NightWalk with Danilo – 5 € per person
Times may change, so please always check the blackboard at the reception. Occasionally, we also have special events which we of course invite you to join. But again, check the blackboard for these.
Hotel room/Accommodation
The rooms are individually designed by Dresden artists (please see the pictures). What’s hidden in the “Dessert Room”, the “Bubble Room” or the “3D-Wonderland”? Every one is different and you will come to recognize each designer’s signature style. The creativity can be found in our single and double rooms, 3- to 8-bed dorms, and in the rooms with loft or platform beds.
As is typical in hostels the showers and toilets are shared on the hallway (and divided between men and women). They are close to the rooms, efficient, and of course cleaned daily.

The rooms are small and very noisy. Squeaky beds and we had dirty blankets, the bed sheets were covered with very worn.
We have shared with all other in the hallway two toilets and two showers (I had my sagrotan always there). It was very loud, loud music until late at night and Gelache.
For breakfast there was usually warmed up bread rolls (Weißmehl the cheapest from cheap), each served from margarine and the nut-Nougat-glass. There was a little sausage and cheese that was there. Not even cucumber etc. or some fruit. Coffee and milk. And ... Read more
