Our hotel Alte Wache is located right in the heart of the Hamburg city. The theatres, the Alster, the railway station and the famous Hamburg shopping streets can be comfortably reached on foot. In
order to make your stay as pleasant as possible, we have arranged the rooms with a shower or tub, toilet, TV, radio, direct dial telephone, desk, mini bar, electric trouser-press and a hair-dryer.
Parking facilities are right behind the hotel. Our conference rooms can seat up to 150 persons and can be equipped with the following technology: overhead projector, flip chart, screen, VHS-video …

The atmosphere of this hotel is rather overwhelming. Old furniture, dark furniture and carpets, everything somehow 80 erStyle (room) or older.
My single room was so large, as I a prison cell presenting. Between bed and desk countersank chair and that was it then for the large also. Fensterbreit and sustained describes the layout.
The TV was small, very small and today's standard no longer appropriate. It hums and flickers.

... the front desk was hard to control (just before a tantrum)-poor foreign cleaning staff could speak a Yes Sorry in such a superior... There one gets already fear as a guest, because you said-at least there was another room. The offer in the courtyard for eight parking €we didn't accepted, since the parking spaces in front of the house for two hours to two €used for 18 o'clock and Saturday were free. Due to the austerity of the train station and outside I was skeptical. But after the first step in the lobby was I just loved it. Very nice atmosphere, fast check-in. My single room was quite small and functional, but clean and comfortable, and felt much more modern than the photos in the Internet would presume.
Can't be beat is the location. Five minutes walk to the train station. Ten minutes to the monkebergstrasse.
In the entrance hall (very old) a PC, the can be used free of charge.
