Hotel room/Accommodation
Drawing inspiration from ancient Kandyan architectural concepts and motifs, the 100 rooms housed at this four star hotel offers stunning views of the forest-covered hills of Heerasasagala and the scenic valleys beyond.
From floor to ceiling, every room brings aspects of Kandyan culture closer to guests, reflecting a unique take on modernistic luxury interspersed with the local culture of the hill country. Rooms are accented by heavy wooden carvings - a characteristic trait among ancient Sri Lankan artisans.
The painted symbols of the sun and moon that adorn the walls were considered as benefic symbols. A recurrent thematic element that is featured in each room are the colours of brick red, dark yellow and black that have been tastefully incorporated in even the smallest detail.
Rooms and suites are spread across three wings. The junior suites include spacious bedrooms, a lounge area and a private balcony where guests can enjoy an intimate setting against the backdrop of the descending sun. The suites situated on the Uthara Prasad wing could be accessed from the lobby or from the pool area via a stone -built staircase with natural borders.

If you the somewhat arduous path't mind, it is a serpentinenreiche street with potholes high, with a nice hotel rewarded. The staff are friendly and if you outside can sit, there is a nice view. The restaurant and the bar inside however not comfortable. The pool is super clean.
There is a spa and a disco, which we didn't use though.
However you have to realize, that around absolutely nothing and you evenings on the hotel rely on.

As part of our classic Ceylon- round trip we have two nights on Amaya hills spent.
the rooms are were a bit shabby. We had the room right next to the pump house from the pool. These could be hear very clearly. Since we on a round trip there, we have only one this hotel stayed overnight. And from 22 o'clock the pumps turned off.
Also otherwise it was very badly soundproofed. We heard the wake-up calls from our direct neighbors and even the next we have received.
the rooms had unfortunately only a bath tub without separate shower cubicle. whil... Read more

We spent two nights during a tour at the hotel Amaya hills. After a 'bumpy' drive you will be rewarded with a nice view. The staff are very friendly. Questions or requests were immediately fulfilled. The room was spacious and clean. We have stayed in several reviews described the dining room is very large and the noise level is corresponding. So not really comfortable. Outside on the terrace with table and a beautiful view with good food to enjoy on Kandy. The food is very tasty and varied. Read more

The hotel was nicely located in the mountains above Kandy. If the car the very narrow winding road with many deep potholes bridal slips, you can hardly expect such a nice hotel. It is wonderful views of Kandy in a large, very well-kept garden. The garden is shown by the ambitious gardener you like, unfortunately will not, however, to the risk of leech to rainfall said...
The hotel also has a small pool, but the water is so cold, that hardly anyone use.
Our standard room was unfortunately in a wing right next to the front desk and on the grou... Read more
