After the first successful twelve years of its existence, the already very well known Hotel Ametyst in Prague now has extensive reconstruction work behind it, which took place in winter 2006 / 2007.
It is not only the whole restaurant area and the main hall that have been completely transformed, but in addition to this, all of the rooms have been equipped with air conditioning, parquet flooring, flat screens and completely new furniture. The technical facilities such as the Internet, telephones and mini bars have also been replaced with new equipment chosen to comply with the standards of the most up-to-date technology. Well-known companies from home and abroad have helped the hotel to measure up to the requirements of its hotel guests for a high level of quality and the most up-to-date equipment.
Under the slogan “Stay with us, and feel like home”, Hotel Ametyst has set out in a completely new direction according to the current trend as far as the interior is concerned.
The hotel, known as a so-called “boutique hotel” has changed its whole philosophy according to modern guidelines even daring to touch a little on the area of design.
Despite the most up-to-date equipment and technology in the hotel, you still gain the impression that you are staying in a completely charming little boutique hotel. The already existing picture gallery in the hotel remains in existence and as was also the case beforehand, is still worth a visit.
These 450 original pictures by domestic and foreign artists attract numerous visitors, as does the cuisine, which has won international awards.
The offer continues to include the typical Austrian wine bar in an unaltered form with its special wine list as well as Czech and Austrian culinary specialities, a sauna and possibility to order a massage. The offer is rounded off with the possibility of holding seminars and conferences for up to 30 participants.
The already existing extras on offer including pay TV, satellite TV and the possibility of preparing tea and coffee in the rooms have been improved and refined.
Only 15 minutes from Wenceslas Square, Hotel Ametyst also offers its own hotel garage apart from a coach park.
The area of service has also undergone a wide range of changes in Hotel Ametyst.
New bedclothes and table linen provide a significant plus point in the hotel as far as the comfort and well being of the guests is concerned. Last but not least, a new method of breakfast buffet presentation sends the guests off into their demanding working days even more fortified and contented than ever before.
When changing the hotel logo and the hotel identity that goes with this, a new Internet presentation was created for the hotel, which already registered a growth in Internet reservations shortly after being set into operation.
With the capacity utilisation factor in Hotel Ametyst reaching an average level of 82% over past years, it is expected in the future that despite the growing number of beds available in Prague this result will be maintained or even improved.

The entrance area makes a very nice and maintained impression. We have the hotel with breakfast booked.

The hotel Ametyst is a good base for a city break to Prague, since a guarded car park (costed extra) available and you quickly to the public transport (underground and S-Bahn) arrives. The rooms are a bit small, but well appointed-kettle therefor for instant coffee and/or tea free. Bathroom and toilet were separated.
