A positive recommendation! Very good for a short stay in Santo Domingo suitable, very close to the building of the Diego Colón. Good location close to Zona Colonial. I would like to highlight the very pleasant care by Bernhard and Kerstin, the a useful recommendations ( instructed Bernhard me to a concert and the every Sunday evening the ruins of the monastery of San Francisco is held). We were from 16.07 . -18.07.2009 in this small, but very good hotel with our two small children (2 and 3 3/4 years old) and the stay at the German Inhaberpaar Susanne and Bernhard very much. The hotel, with a lot of love and understood renovated old building, is located in the heart of the old city, so all attractions Santo Domingos are within walking distance. The hotel Atarazana is an absolute top tip! It is located in the heart of Santo Domingo in the Zona Colonial. In about ten minutes walking distance to the Placa Hispana. The atmosphere in the square in the evening is totally romantic and it was worth going there in any of the restaurants for dinner. Lots of shopping and tourist attractions are within walking distance to the hotel. The hotel is under German management. Atarazana is a very tastefully designed hotel, with very nice owners and staff and a great breakfast. Guests comfort is well-being and be in the focal point and not the profit. I was in my Passverlust without asking helped immediately. The pick-up time-consuming my passport to another place in Santo Domingo was done by the owner. Read more

I only stayed 4 nights and it was definitely not enough. When I was there Susana (la directora) and Bernardo (the architect) were close to finishing the new roof garden, which they will now have finished. In addition to the beautiful patio downstairs one could imagine this being a marvellous place to look over Santo Domingo or simply to have a rest in one of the wooden deck chairs.
