The hotel Aulac in Lausanne is a much den. The bathrooms are renovated, but instead of showers, high shower, which can be a problem for older travelers. The furniture is very basic but clean. There are only two tiny elevators, the endless need, up or down until you arrive. A staircase, the only from the first floor to use. From the ground floor to the first floor you have to take the elevator. There is an emergency, the so is however, that you have to look. In case of fire this hotel is a case, as we didn't get out. This 3* 84 room hotel is just across the road from Lake Geneva. The hotel doesn't particularly impress on first site being neither old and quaint or modern and bright. Both b&b and half board are offered and the food is good.
It is about 5 mins to city centre if using the metro which is adjacent to hotel. The hotel is actually in Ouchy and Lausanne town centre is a very tiring walk especially to the top level.
