We were in advance with written request in the group hotel Albany Ballantrae moved (has one more star and basically around the corner) and got a spacious room and a newly renovated bathroom. The hotel is ideally located - quiet for sleeping and still only 200 meters to the nightlife. Good base beyond the beaten track, but in the city around to explore the city by day. The lady at the front desk was very rude and was not at all service-minded. Have a downgrade instead of upgrade and the price was still nothing was filmed. Very petty. The room was dirty and very uncomfortable. Old lumpy blankets on the bed and dirt on the mattress, carpet and everywhere else. Also the service was an impertinence. A bottle of water to obtain from the hotel reception was only without exhibition a bill and on a £10 seems didnt want to be changed. I rate clearly from ballantrae hotel. The hotel is located in a quiet side street. Through the yet central location of the hotel can be reached within walking distance of all major tourist attractions. We had a very quiet room to the courtyard. The decor is very tasteful, but a bit rickety. There are two twin beds, which can be pushed together, upon request a desk area and a table with two armchairs. A small flat screen TV, hairdryer, kettle, tea and cookies are available. The hotel is situated in a central position ballantrae (York Place 8 ) in the heart of Edinburgh close to the Princes Street, the main shopping street Edinburgh. All attractions are within walking distance. Basically ballantrae makes the hotel a very quaint traditional impression. The price of a room includes a breakfast buffet included. Although it can not insignificant waiting periods, the breakfast room is quite small and very little seating.

The hotel is not very big, I would say max 30 people. Not suitable for handicapped people. It was already a bit old, a renovation would enhance everything. Private parking at the rear was ideal.
We had a large room, Euroadapter for plug must be taken. Room to the front facing the road are noisy.
Good and prompt service. Check-in, check-out without any problems. Staff was helpful
Rent a car 5 minutes away
Breakfast was adequate but could be developed. But continental breakfast wasn't plentiful.
