Simple older hotel with very spacious, clean rooms. Toilet & shower were newly renovated and everything was always very clean and well maintained. My room had a balcony with a direct view of the north face of the Eiger and unspoilt. The breakfast buffet was more than enough for my taste. Furthermore, the hotel has free wireless Internet, but the signal strength in my room on the top floor was very weak. We had room number. 9, a corner room on the first floor. The room is newly renovated. Rooms divided in a small room is a shower and toilet. The sink is in the room. A statement about other rooms we cannot be taken. The view from the balcony is fantastic. Part of grindelwald and the Eiger are located directly on the opposite side. Television with many channels is located in the room. The breakfast buffet is wide. Different sorts of bread, rolls, jam, sausage, cheese and very fine. I'm going for some years, the BEL-air EDEN skiing. Above all the immediate vicinity (50 meters) on the COG railway to the ski area is crucial for me. The hotelier are always friendly and never reason to complain. Looking forward to next year. Read more

The hotel is rated as a 2* but the services offered by the hotel that included plenty of maps and guides/ train and bus time info and info on local area, an excellent breakfast laid out every morning with plenty of choice- fresh bread/ boiled eggs/ jams/ meats/ fresh juices etc, alongside the excellent hospitality off the staff and all round condition, cleanliness and presentation of the hotel itself- even down to umbrellas being available at the main door should you wish to borrow one during the day or evening, meant that our stay was more like one that you would expect of a 4 or 5 * rated hotel!

While all other hotels had nearly doubled their prices for the summer season, this one kept theirs low, buffet breakfast was excellent and the owner made the best coffee i have found in swizterland.
