The evenings with a good book. No reasonable restaurant nearby, no attractive place, no promenade, 10 meters outside of the hotel it is dark, no halfway usable possibility to spend the night, completely unacceptable bar, only suitable for hikers, on the day a condition as a marathoner have and in the evening with Portuguese tv or book in the hand to sleep want. The hotel has the best location on the island. The food was good, nevertheless recommend I the dinner in numerous local restaurants( for example in Lagoa Borda d'aqua for the fish lovers or in Ponta Delgada)-is not more expensive than in the hotel, but mostly better and social.
Definitely a car rent and either a navigation system or routes still at home print.
At the front desk of the hotel you can always after good restaurants or destinations questions. It is a little German, otherwise very good English spoken. Read more

Touristic Previously, no concrete, but many possibilities for excursions in a unique nature. The Signage, especially the side streets is adventurous, but in fact, you can get the small island not too far procedure. It becomes green and blossomed everywhere. The island is kept very clean. We had a all around great holiday -due to the very well run hotels. It was missing to us at nothing. Especially the great view-from every room with a balcony -on the Atlantic ocean. The breakfast was hearty and good. The dinner varied -always fish and meat, lots of different salads and vegetables. Amazing desserts-cautious figure. The cleanliness was exemplary.
