We have this hotel three years ago visited and were very satisfied. In the three years very seriously quality decreased (probably no money for a renovation/ Maintenance is required ). Staff are very friendly especially Julio and Juan ( guest service). We were too fourth in the hotel and our three weeks vacation all a-half weeks sick, with stomach problem to fever and diarrhea Diseases, the other guests it was not much better. In general it was a really great vacation at Grand paradise!
However to consider is the long journey-from Puerto Plata it is still about 4 hours to the hotel, from Santo Domingo about 3 hours. In our opinion has this long check in not really worth it-is to say, that it in Punta Cana exactly fantastically beautiful and you'll save yourself the bus ride.
Furthermore, you should know, that it in samana very often rains and almost always cloudy is.
