Trincomale is no vacation destination. You come here because of the people, the culture and the sun. The SEA is most hiet seits gefahrlich. The way to Trincomale is very bad. But in a year will that be on the mend. Read more

The Chaaya Blue is located in the former crisis area of Sri Lanka from the days of terrorism. For two years, this conflict has been resolved, but the territory is very strongly monitored. If guard posts on the way to the hotel make you rather uncomfortable than secure, the trip can not be recommended until there are more peaceful times. The long journey on the badly drivable street (during civil war times no investments were made here), demands a little stamina, but is worthwhile!

The food was very good and there were even front cooking areas, one in the outdoor area and one in the inside of the hotel (the food is set up in a fully air-conditioned buffet room, but is consumed on the open terrace with a sea view).
