HOW CAN YOU GIVE NEGATIVE THIS HOTEL? UNBELIEVABLE! Price/performance ratio just top! Very nice hotel, a lot of green, a lot of palms, slides are in the hotel, but the beach in Omar five minutes footpath to reach! Very nice staff (also without tips), all of the staff tried to speak German with a, a lot of people from the staff could also speak German! After our first (les Colombes) hotel more than were very unhappy, we ended up at this hotel. Compared to the first hotel a difference as heaven and hell. In retrospect: food (buffet) was good. Quite a lot of choice and very good quality. Cleanliness was okay. What's annoying is the volume, you should be careful, far away from the pool and the entertainment to be accommodated. For a hotel for families is the noise level by the pool until late into the night simply unacceptable. Read more

It was almost everything in order. To complain about is the selection of bread for breakfast (only white bread and baguettes), as well as the lack of entertainment and the far too loud music in the evening, in addition there was always the same music (only the French charts), and the outrageous behaviour. They all work very hard and made my holiday a holiday to remember( a good holiday) the pool outside is freezing cold but very refreshing and there's also an indoor pool aswell. - in November 09

none of us have never been locked in shops until we have bought something the hotel staff are great the aniamation team are wicked and yes they work bloody hard it is true that they are doing work at the hotel at the moment but it is not desturbing in fact we have just come home and friends of mine were staying in the building were they are doing work and it was not a problem for them and they have a 11 month old child we had a great holiday dont listen to all the bad comments about this hotel try it u will be very pleasntly suprised we love this hotel and the people there im sure u will too .

had to be move to another hote,,, the flies in there thousands over food and cutlery and everywhere u were,,had to have inj twice, and we were all seen by doctor, gave us all 4 lots of med,,, rep said we were dehyydrated, and blamed us for taking it in,,, otherwise its a nice hotel,they love the kids and work hard,,, but some staff said they wont eat there and they were also bad,,,moved us outt after 8 days,,, within an hour,,,,wanted to go back with children ,,, but no,,, never again,, hol was totaly ruined,, so be ware if going,,,

we stayed in the dar khyan it was the worst holiday we have ever had it was like beeing on a bulding and fly infested site we were given are room that wasant cleanned or no towelsthe bar area was drty we were given glasses that were not cleanned befor i went on the holiday i went on to trip advisor read the reviews that was not good went into my local tavel agents and told them they did not want to no thomas cook i was concerned as i have had mayjor surgery 8 weeks ago the waiters was only intrested in the single women and they were rude my husbands bed was like a saggy mattress dipped in the middlewe were they for 5 days could not take any more seen the rep and she moved us sraight away to the chichkhan hotel that was brill the following day there were 23 more guestmoved as well i wood really consider about this holiday to any one you will be dissapointed if you go there sorry there have been lots of complaints to the rep there jane matt ner bristol

August 15th till 25th GOOD PARTS Good hotel, rooms spacious, food ok , but a bit repetitive , dont expect english fry ups, the chef is brill, very funny, breakfast is a free for all to sit down , but lunch and dinner , you have set times , so no hassle, also lunch at pool bar very good , kebab, pizza, chips, salads fruit, plus specials, entertainment is very good , reps work so hard , rooms are kept clean , plus clean towels most days, hotel next door water rides included , very good ,can use there bar as well free,, beach is clean , watersports, canoes pedloes, windsurf,, all free,,sun beds all free on beach, the free meal in the beach bar is excelent , the pools are very good, shops opposite hotel good bargains, would recomend barbara souk ,set prices, watch out for shops under neath as they try it on, if you go for a walk go left out of hotel some shops friendly owners , haggle always,, dont go right out of hotel, local shops , nasty wont take no for an answer so be warned ,,the medina in yassmine hammamet is worth going to just get taxi 10 dinnar, realy cheap bargains,, if you want any drink apart from gin /whisky/ vodka/beer/ take your own as if you like tia maria , baileys ,you wont find it in hotel, also buy duty free tobacco on plane as a job to get brand smokes, Bad points the transfers from airport , are about 2 1/2 hours not the 1 hour you are led to belive, when you arrive, reception friendly but porters just grab your cases and start going to your rooms then wait for a tip , what ever you give them they are not happy ( saying i not forget you ), restaurant is ok but if your on 2nd sitting tables not clean when you go in or set for you, have to keep asking for cuttlery ,glasses, breakfast never enough cups ,,, bar under staffed just 1 man for long hours , so be prepared to wait about 15 mins for a drink at night , also a big problem , toilets, women always in reception asking for toilet roll as always run out and toilet never hardley cleaned during the day ,, Also the touts will continuently hassle you to go the camel trip (is good trip ) ,, pirate ship (good) , they dont want you to have a few days rest , they want you to spend your money straight away, told pirate we will go on later in week , but he keeps on at you all day , saying when is later ,, when time to come home they try to get you out of your room early ,, send porters to room to get you out before 12, also dont know how or when but had some glasses im my case go missing , didnt know till i got home, so lock your cases. - in October 09

We were shown to our room in the main block- A refurbished room with a sea view all the way to the room the porter kept telling us what a great room we had - The door opened and after 30hrs of being awake we found a scene of total filth - The room had not been cleaned since its previous occupants vacated, dirty sheets were strewn on the floor, hair dirt and overflowing bins were our reception - The bathroom was just as bad with a blocked toilet. - in September 10
Our room wasn't cleaned properly (the bathroom floor had a huge clump of hair on it that was there the day we got there and remained there every day thereafter) and the toilets near the restaurants were disgusting; splatted with diarrhoea constantly and never cleaned. - in March 10

just returned from hotel dar khayam tunisia really enjoyed the hotel and staff travelled with my wife my sister and her husband and stayed for one week in september found the hotel good value for the price for what we paid for we stayed in the main building top floor with a pool view no noise after midnight even though we had a allocated table to sit at we were not restricted to first or second sittings always found something to eat but be adventurous because some of the dishes may not look nice but they were very tasty no problem with drinks queues yes but bar staff throughout the day quick and pro fessional on there feet all day always a smile on there face and always polite treat people the same as you would want to be treated yourself and you cant go wrong animation team brilliant with the kids kept them amused so parents and other guests could enjoy some peace and quiet around the pool pool and snackbar A1 beach sandy and resonably clean considering we had a storm and all the kelp and seaweed had been blown ashore did not participate inorganised trips but used taxis to go to the medina in hammamet 5 dina each way yellow cabs do not use white minibus as they charge per person friday nabuel market lot of hassle like the medina but if you dont want to buy polite no thank you and walk by if you are like me and enjoy haggling only buy what you need bargains are to be found and enjoy the experience but beware there are some ali babas out there holiday itself ok some plus and minusus but research your holiday before you go like on sites like tripadviser if you demand this and that for a holiday then you will be disapointed some times go with aopen mind be adventuroudont expect 5 star go with the flow and enjoy

Finally the staff were all fantastic, the Sunset reps Tracy who met us at the airport and Lorraine based at the hotel were spot on and the animation team work so so hard and do a brilliant job i have to say a big thank you to Sam, how he keeps up his energy levels during Ramadan I'll never know, and a special thank you to Liza Liza Liza sorry i mean Lisa & Didi we were definitely clapping our happies every night with the entertainment.

You won't find burger and chips every night so remember your in Africa but their is enough choice to suit everyone and noone got funny bellys from the food which is good.

Yes the food is repetitive but what eles do you expect when the hotel is at full compacity and trying to cater for everyone i am a fussy eater but did not go hungry! - in November 09

We booked two weeks at the Hotel Dar Khayam because it was the lowest price for the time of year and because of this where not expecting a five star holiday with all the trimmings, we got what we wanted somewhere to relax and chill out and the standard was as good as we expected, the rooms and hotel areas were clean dated but clean, the food was repetitive but again nice not spectacular but edible, location great weather crappy but hey. - in September 10
The food is repetitive but bear in mind that they have similar 8-10 main courses on at once each night.

People say the drinks are watered down, I witnessed the barman opening fresh sealed bottles so if they are watered down then it must be at source, we went on the belly dancing night trip (1001 nights) and the beer/wine I ordered tasted exactly the same as the hotel. - in October 09
the drinks are watered down but i did,nt think that was such a bad thing really as least u did,nt get 2 see & hear people pissed all the time.

The pools were clean, the indoor pool was lovely and warm on the days it was a bit too cold to go in the oudor pool.

The hotel facilities are very good, the pool is great, plenty of sun loungers and parasols, the beach area is only a short walk away and there is archery and waterslides in the neighbouring hotel (Omar Khayam) which you have full free access to. - in August 10

The pools are great (although the outdoor pool hadn't heated up due to it only being Feb) the indoor pool is a great alternative though.
