We stayed in the new part of the Edda and with our large room (including kitchenette) in the highest floor very satisfied.
The breakfast was good and varied, but very strongly frequented by city bus tour groups, so that it was very loud and hectic. The breakfast room had the Edda-boarding school charm, by the helpful and diligent students/student was not much better.
The centre of Akureyri one about 15 minute. There were all sorts of restaurants and shops. Read more

The hotel is one of the larger Edda hotels.
The rooms, at least in the new building, were very spacious.
The breakfast room is a long narrow 'hose'.
If large groups food, it is quite a crowd.
The service comes the need often not fast enough.
The state-of-the-art glass produced on average expected to supranationality, will not be met.

Was just passing through to Akureyi. It has very nice cafes, restaurant, but probably really only a transit destination. Therefore it is not much more write here. Read more

This edda-hotel has considered from outside even a hotel of character, it surprised already if view the photos. The lobby was a "real" hotel lobby. Communication was as in most of English. The elevator was in the building was broken and have seen from the parking lot was enough not to the third floor high. The offered dinner we didn't booked. We only have a breakfast.
