Is the largest hotel on Rarotonga. It is very well located, bus drove into the hotel. The hotel is unfortunately in the years come and in need of updating. Building and room, but also the way would be better to say the tarred. Reception not welcoming also it something of lack of cleanliness in the restaurant and the quality of the food.
With little effort you could be improved very quickly.
Very friendly staff, rent a car in the hotel and OK. Activities were super Äten.
It has a good feel is in our opinion a good three star hotel. Read more

It is unfortunately rather new building built and expanded, rather than having to invest the money in the existing and to renovate. You can tell unfortunately, that it the largest hotel on Rarotonga is (mass). The leisure offer is OK but unfortunately also not very well maintained. The beach is but without words. Very beautiful and very clean. Read more

Good facilities and staff were very knowledgeable and more than happy to share their thoughts and comments.

On a side note for any younger people reading this, it was a pretty quite place that didn't really have a lively atmosphere. It was great for relaxing on the beach and spending time with your partner but happy hour etc was abit dull with the older generation haha.

It is a place that you can do as much as you like or as little as possible and still have a great holiday. - in November 09
just arrived back from another great holiday in the cook islands, stayed once again at the edgewater resort and spa, well the staff here remembered my wife and i from a previous visit, and as we were returnees they upgraded our room and gave us a food and beverage credit it was there way of saying thank you, if you have never stayed at this resort before i highly recomended it, the staff are friendly and cant do enough for you, there are many activities run from the resort, from fish feeding in the morning, hiking ,coconut tree climbing show, book a horse trek, there are tennis courts and a pool, check out crab racing on thursday afternoon, the rooms are clean and are serviced daily, the resort has its own restaraunt and the food is excellent, one thing you must try is the night life tour on a friday evening its a great way to meet other people and full of laughs hope this helps you look for somewhere to stay you wont regret it.

The free daily activities at Edgewater were much more exciting than what I saw chalked on the boards at some of the other more expensive resorts too.

I would never recommend this resort to anyone and issue this warning to those foolish enough to stay there: Never leave anything of value in your room if you want to see it again.

- in July 10
I am sure they are working on updating the older rooms as well but this all takes time and finance - this is a Pacific Island resort, NOT the Hilton in New York! - in July 10
Obviously some of the older rooms are ageing (we all do) but they have built an amazing selection of self-contained 3 bedroom cottages, new beachfront units and updated their reception area to become a smart, spacious, welcoming area.
- in July 10

- in October 09

- in August 10
The service was great and the staff friendly and very nice. - in January 10
The beach is spotless and service at the Spa was great. - in January 10
Some people note the Edgewater is getting tired - I would surmise this depends on where you stay as it is a big complex, definitely the restaurant is due for a makeover, but the rest semed to be environment wear and tear - it is on the waters edge, and living by the sea the sea conditions can be harsh, all and all though great service and great location.

We stayed in a Deluxe Beachfront Room, which I managed to get at a fairly cheap price with industry discounts. - in January 10
If I had to pay full price, I would definitely pay more and stay somewhere else and any room type below the deluxe beachfront I would not even consider.

A word about the snorkelling - it is great to have good snorkelling right at the resort and the free use of gear is a bonus although you have to remember this is the islands and the rules about how long you can have the gear, towels etc, and whether in fact they have any available, changes constantly :) Our first evening at the Edgewater we sipped happy hour cocktails (yummy margaritas) sitting on the beach, watching the sun set over the water while a few whales frolicked just beyond the reef - truly magical! - in July 10
The swimming and snorkelling were great as was the Activities staff. - in June 10

The Edgewater was a great pick for us in terms of location - the round island bus comes right into the resort, car/ scooter hire is available from the on site Budget office and there is a good choice of restaurants within walking distance. - in September 10
As we were a party of 6 we dined 9 nights out of 10 at the excellent restaurants within walking distance of this resort.

I did go by the Rarotongan Resort- it is cuter, more Polynesian, and more expensive- but I did find the beaches there to be extremely windy, and 2 separate American couples described the staff there as having indifferent/unhelpful attitudes.
