We were there at the beginning of August 12 days at Estrela do Vau. Booked last minute and it has been a lovely holiday. - We love the Algarve and their fantastic beaches stop: -) The Estrela do Vau is nice and clean. We had a ground floor apartment in the immediate vicinity of the lobby and it was always very loud until midnight. The rooms are very clairaudient. ... the hotel ' Estrela do Vau' to spend? This is exactly the right decision. When our airport transfer buss before this door and take our names, we were blown away. So we had our place not expected. Exactly like the pictures on the internet. Beautiful! Our holiday could start. We entered the hotel and were in a huge reception hall. In the middle a large grand palm tree at the rich green. The apartments are very good size, we had a studio apartment, it was an upstairs loft. If you like to cook make sure you an apartment with large kitchen (or large worktop) get. The rooms to the west orientated are the best (sun). The surrounding area is not the best, but if you have a car (mandatory, not to be missed Glasversicherung lock and nothing in a car at the cliffs)no problem, Lidl, Aldi (which isn't so nice) and Church of Saint Anthony (great, membership card for Savings also possible for 1 week)with car close to way, in Alvor big ... We booked this trip already planned and are generally also was not disappointed. Arrived are too Holy evening. Restaurant closed this day at 8pm closed. Could get dinner for 15 , -€ per person - although we had booked full board. It should put on 1 Holiday lunch. A short consulting, after the public holidays with the travel agent revealed that this is a misunderstanding. This hotel and location is ideal for either couples or families. The hotel overall was excellent, clean,friendly and had a great family atmosphere. The surounding area has only a few resturaunts which are really nice, but we found that a short taxi ride(5 min) in either direction after leaving the hotel there is the fairly lively PRAIA DE ROCHA or ALVOR which are both lovely resorts.
