During an extended hiking weeks we booked for two nights at the end of the day in the hotel in Waldeck unspoiled by Hermann. We were received very cordially and also when we on the next day in the primeval forest and trail had in the pouring rain on our landlady standing by to the right track asked, staff was very friendly and tried hard, on the right road to take. This is the 3 -star hotel to large side pension. The advertised lake view there is only from the first floor. Must book at least a comfort room, a standard room is very sparse. ( We had booked certain comforts but got standard. ) Our room was updated, but the old furniture ( early 70 's? ) and curtains were again have been granted. The bathroom had a shower with glass doors (very nice) but a much to loud fan. The Seeschlösschen is a small family-run hotel, and they make you feel that way made me feel very welcome and almost at home! Looking for a quiet, very relaxing night in comfortable beds, can relax with a rich breakfast buffet good way to start the day. There are a lot of attractions and hiking trails. We were made to feel welcome and the next day also when we did get lost on the Urwaldsteig and standing in the pouring rain calling our Zimmerwirtin asked to see if everything was all right, they were very friendly and tried hard, us to the right way to run.
